There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Dave & Teddy's Most Excellent Adventures 2012

Part IV

off of his lead and over to his Spyder, do the double tap signal on my chest and up he jumps into my arms and I proceed to put him into his carrier on the Spyder under his new sun canopy:thumbup:

Ummmmmmm, only he doesn't immediately get into it and instead straddles the carrier with all four legs standing on top of its sides (wish I had a pic of that, looked hilarious:roflblack:) He had done this a time or two in the past, when there was something he wasn't used to inside his carrier, like a different mat, or ice pad in the summer, or heating pad in the winter, just until he could get a couple of good sniffs of it with his amazing nose, then he'd just drop himself down inside the carrier once he was satisfied with the new smell.

At the time, I didn't think much of it, being dark and all, and I had removed his pad earlier to dry it out in the garage, so I figured it was just different without his pad in it, and thats why he was doing doggy splits not to get in it. After a few sniffs as usual tho, he dropped right down inside and was as content as could be to just be sitting there and watcing me doing what I was doing, but at least now he was calm and not whining, so I didn't have to worry about waking the new neighbors.

Mother Nature was Kind to me this morning ...........

Last night, here in the Cincy area, we had some pretty strong thunderstorms blowing through. The rain was crashing down pretty heavily on the skylites above my bed when my alarm woke me up this morning at 2am & I figured I was in for one heck of a wet ryde into work. As I showered, I was debating which rain gear I should wear in, between the FroggToggs which work well, but when its warm or hot out, I'm usually just as wet from the sweat that builds up. I also have the BRP jacket, which technically ISN'T rain gear, but it still does work pretty well as long as your not riding a long time in a heavy downpour. Then I also have a new S&S Mesh Jacket I just got from BajaRon last month, and it came with an interior & removeable rain liner. Then there's my favorite and proven FirstGear Thermo Riding Suit that I also got from BajaRon a couple years back, & it by far offers the best rain protection of anything I've tried, but its also meant for Cold Weather riding, being insulated, so not really good for warm or hot rides like todays.

By the time I finished showering and dressing for work, the rain had completely stopped, no more tatta tat tat on the skylites could be heard. Hmmmmm, could this be, is the storm over. Sure enough, I check the WeatherBug app. on my Droid, and all the weather had just moved to the east and it was clear skys for the next hour or so coming from the west ....... WHOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!! I lucked out, as it was all clear just in time for me to leave.

But, seeing as the roads were still wet, I decided to go with the BRP Jacket, tho I hadn't worn it since before my back surgery and I was in for a rude awakening as I put it on. I knew I had gained some weight since I had back surgery, but this was an eye opener, as I had to actually strain a bit to suck in my gut to get the dang zipper to go all the way up:opps: I went to my doc the day before to get my script refilled and she had confirmed that I had gained around 10 pounds, as the last time I was there (6 months ago) I had been stationary for a while hovering right below 200, at 198 but at this visit, I was 208 & the jacket confirmed this:lecturef_smilie:

So, I need to get my butt in gear, and get back to working out, as my back is now fine, and our recent 2000 mile round trip to SITA proved that, as I had no ill effects with my back at all from the trip. Even after 600 miles straight (minus fuel stops) when I got to the campsite, Randy & Holly thought for sure that I'd be whipped and ready to turn in, but heck naw, we were up and having fun til late that night - - - GOOD TIMES:yes:

So, in conclusion, the ride in this morning couldn't have been better really. As there were hardly any cars on the road at 2:30 in the morning, so I didn't even have to worry about road-spray from other vehicles and made it all the way nice and dry, not even a speck on the shield:2thumbs:

:firstplace:Have I said how much I LOVE TEDS RED SLED Lately?

Here's another one for Randy (Arntufun) If only ................ huh - lol

So I went to Walgreens last night to get my script filled, and of course, Teddy was in tow. While shopping around while waiting for it to get filled, we walked by a rather attractive lady that was sitting in the pharmacy waiting area and she noticed Teddy right away with a huge smile on her face. I looked and smiled back, and started to keep on walking by, but she'd have none of it,
"Hold up, get back here, you can't just walk away from me like that, not with the cutest little dog I've ever seen." She says. So of course, I kindly oblidge her and we turn around and walk up to her and I honestly think, she fell in love (albeit, maybe puppy love-lol) The way this lady was fawning over Teddy was .......... shocking:yikes:While she was petting and carressing the lil ham, she was pelting me with 20 questions like I was in an interview or something. Come to think of it, maybe I kinda was:shocked: It was so dang funny tho, as the questions all started out innocently enough and all about The Tedster, but that soon changed to, "So, I bet your wife gets upset with all the attention he gets you, huh?" Wow, was this lady fishing or what?:roflblack: "Wife, what wife, if I had a wife I couldn't afford the Spyder and Teddy wouldn't like sharing my attention with someone else." "Oh, so no wife huh?" "Naw, tried that, didn't work, divorced and she's still living in Florida, lucky girl." "Oh, well she's no longer with you, so I don't see why you would think that she's lucky?" Man O Man, was this lady on the hunt or what?:dontknow::roflblack: "Well, I miss Florida like crazy, it just felt "right" living there, the ocean just has a way of calming ones soul like no other place I've been to has even come close to." I said back. After this exchange, I was kind of glad that the pharmicist called her name out and ended our discussion, or Teddy may have been really pissed at me for what 'might' have transpired from there:lecturef_smilie:

:thumbup:Randy, your a lucky guy to have Holly in your life, so by NO MEANS should you screw that up and get a lil Spyder Ryde'n dog:lecturef_smilie:But thats just my personal opinion

Teddy & I rode his Red Sled in our first funeral yesterday

I was once told, 'A funeral is not for the deceased, it is for the greiving left behind.'

And Teddy did his part to help bring joy to those in attendance of such a somber occasion. The funeral was for my best friends loving GrandMother of 92 years, whom I had personally met a few times & knew that 'Dutch' was truly a wonderful lady & will sorely be missed by all that knew her:pray:
:pray: May she rest in peace:pray:

Upon arriving at the funeral home, we parked in the 2nd open parking spot & immediately another car pulled up next to us & the drivers side window slowly lowered & I heard the drivers voice say to me, "I betcha didn't know that, did ya?" I quickly decided to play the eldery mans game, To which I replied, "Know what?" "That your driving "whatever that thing is." as my wife called it" he said with a chuckle. "That's what she told me when she told me to park next to you & 'whatever that thing is, that your driving or riding." I chuckled & told them its called a Can-Am Spyder Roadster & its 'HIS' bike, pointing to Teddy & laughing. You know by now how this continued, so I'll fast forward to us entering the Funeral Home.

Upon enterring, (& we were actually a little early for a change) one of the first people to greet us was a rather attractive, tanned lady with a beautiful smile and was rather appealingly dressed whom I had NO CLUE who she was. She promptly approached with outstreatched hand and said, "Hi, you must be Davey & this has gotta be Teddy?" I chuckled & agreed, "Yup, that would be us, and you are?" She told me her name & that she was my best friends brothers' girlfriend that lives in Florida who flew up for his GrandMothers funeral. I had met my best friends brother a few times throughout the 25 years that I've known him now, but most of the time he's lived abroad, so we've never been close, just keeping updated on each others lives through my best friend, Doug. So I thought it 'funny' that this lady knew all about who I was & I had no clue about her, but it was all because of Teddys 'Star Power' this I had no doubt of & she confirmed by stating, 'I'm so glad to finally meet you, as I've been hearing all about you and Teddy & All of his Fantastic Adventures.'

CONTINUATION:
Soon after meeting my best friends' brothers' girlfriend, one of the Funeral Directors approached us and at first glance, he had a somber look upon his face, but as soon as he was close to us, he was all smiles at the sight of Teddy. He asked all about Teddy and I kindly told him of Teddy's Adventures and our most recent trip to New York and Lake Placid and the Adirondacks and he seemed revited on my every word as he was petting Teddy's MowHawk all the while. After our little story, he asked if I had written a book of our Adventures, and I jokingly told him, "Its a work in progress, as we keep a Thread of Teds Adventures on a website forum called SpyderLovers.com and you may want to check it out." He said that he would, but if I ever decided to write a book, to make sure to let him know, cause he'd be first in line to pick one up.

After that, we went to be with my best friend and his family and Teddy was really good (for the most part) to just be quiet and sit patiently in my lap while we'd get one visitor after another just wanting to see & pet the lil guy. I was a bit worried at first, as this was our first funeral together, that he'd cause to much comotion with people, and it would over-shadow such a solemn event, but that wasn't the case. It was almost as if he understood what was going on, and was ok with just remaining as low-key as possible for him.

As the cerimonies came to a close, we all proceeded to the parking lot to form the procession of cars that would take "Dutch" to her final resting spot at the cemetary and another of the Funeral Directors approached with a 'funeral flag' and asked if we intended to be part of the procession, which I said of course. He then asked where he could put the flag, as its held on by magnet and all of the Spyders tupperware is plastic. After a little searching, we found the only place (albeit not ideal) was to attatch it to the metal trailer hitch, even tho it was so low to the ground it would hardly be seen. But he reassured us and said "No worries, we'll put you in the middle right behind the family" and then he made a comment that kinda took me by surprise. "Just in case I don't get to see you two later, I just wanted to say Thank You, YOU MADE MY DAY." This isn't the first time we've been told this, but I think this was the most impactful of all the times that we have been told. I couldn't say anything as I myself was a little choked up, so I just smiled kindly at him and nodded my head in agreement.

As he took his leave of us and went to attend to the family, the other Funeral Director once again returned to see Teddy on his Spyder, with doggles donned and ready to ryde. He was all smiles at the site before him, and he leaned in to me, as if to make sure no one else could hear him and he said to me, "You know, if you'd like to put Teddy up in the nice air-conditioned herse, I wouldn't mind taking his spot and going for a ryde on this wonderful looking machine" and we both chuckled and he quickly went back to the business of caring for the family.

Enroute, of course we had many on-lookers, and thumbs up and a few pics and vids snapped of us as we went along the route through town to the cemetary. We had a motorcyle escort who was on a Harley 2 wheeler and his pipes we so loud, I personally thought it not appropriet for such a solemn occasion, but that's just me. I never realized what a bike escort has to go thru til this very moment, as he risked his life on numerous occasions trying to direct others to stop at intersections, and then having to speed along the procession of cars to get back to the front, often times going into the opposite lane and having to repeatedly point (and sometimes yeall) at the on-coming cars to get over so they didn't run into him head on. It was actually scary to watch.

But we made it to the cemetary without issue and had a very nice closing cerimony for "Dutch" :pray:MAY SHE REST IN PEACE:pray:

At the end of the cerimony, Teddy happily posed for pics while on his Spyder as person after person asked if they could take a pic of the lil guy, and we were happy to oblidge, being able to bring smiles to the faces of so many that were feeling blue with the loss of a loved one. All in all, Teddy did what he could to bring joy to the world of all those that were suffering that day. I LOVE THIS DOG:bowdown:

OK, this made me laugh out loud- But I wonder if I should be worried of whats to come

Teddy and I live in a very small condo community that only has 26 units in total. I was happy to be able to purchase the unit that we got, as it is the only unit that has no neighbors on either side (unlike all the rest) and we have the top 2 floors of the building, with only one neighbor being attatched, and their directly below us, with sharing a common gated entry way.

The couple that lived there had 2 kids, so they just recently sold to move to a larger house with a yard, so Teddy and I now have a new neighbor that we've yet to meet. When last I talked with the previous owners, they said that a younger guy had bought their unit but they didn't know much else about him.

It would seem he's moved in and settled, as I've seen his truck in his assigned parking spot and he now has his balcony outfitted with plants and a grill. The previous owners had left their front door mat that read "WELCOME FRIENDS" When Teddy and I got home last night, it had been replaced with this one ..........................:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
