• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

dash gauge hole covers

At Spyder Store the Cover with a 1" hole is $33.00, YIKES! I'll make my own, I've got aluminum laying around somewhere in my shop. Thanks for waking up my lazy winter ass.

:agree: … I used the metal cap off a small jar …. nice smooth / rolled edges ….. Mike :ohyea:

Just curious as to why you would want to remove the fuel and temp gauges?

The "early" RT's with the gauges had a "wonky" gas gauge. The needle would tend to wobble up and down making it difficult to determine how much gas in the tank. The "gaugeectomy" was an early solution. The digital gauges which are built in DO work much better. All that did the guageectomy were told to do both gas and temp at the same time.

I had three gas gauges replaced on my 2010. Finally gave up. Did the gaugeectomy on the 2011 also, without any gauge repairs. The gauge on my 2014 is still just fine. No gaugeectomy needed there.

Bottom line for me. I still set the A tripmeter to zero when filling with gas. This gives me an "actual" miles traveled on the tank. I use the gauges as "informational." I usually refill when there is about 50 miles left in the tank. I don't like to run it until the refill light goes on if I don't have to.

The digital gauge gives you a safe 20 miles per bar, much more convenient than guessing a needle position. For info, you only need to disconnect the left gauge to get the digital ones to pop up.

The analogue gauge connectors carry ignition switched positive and negative cables, very handy for wiring accessories - with or without gauge removal.

Have the dealer order them. They are a replacement part for the earlier base RTs that didn't have gauges. Should be only a couple of bucks each.
