• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dash Bolts?

Can anyone tell me what size/type the four dash bolts are on the face of the dash of a 14 RTL? Can I pick one up somewhere or are they specialty items and need to be ordered from BRP?

Thanks in advance

JC

Not sure..!!

Ann knows but on the parts list at cheapcycleparts.com they are torx scews M5x14 and at $1.99. Home depot has a good assortment of metric screws. If you can match it up they will have allens you could switch out all four for the same price...:dontknow:

:agree: Home Depot, and Ace Hardware usually have a pretty good selection. All that you have to do, is find them...

Thanks!

Thanks folks. Looked just where Ann pointed and found that yes, they are the Torx, M5x14. I'll hunt them down at cheapcycleparts. Really appreciate the quick help...and I'll check the parts list first next time.

I was just pointing him to the parts catalog to find out what the size is, we usually start at Home Depot or at our good local hardware store that has a super large assortment. That split screen is hard for me to read on the parts catalog, you can only blow it up so big! I did see that Cheap Cycle Parts has the link also to the parts catalogs which is very handy and cool.

From the 2014 RT-S Body and Windshield Accessories parts page they are Item #75, Part #250000487, Torx Screw, Nylon Patch M5 X 14, Price $1.99 for 2 and you need 4. I'll bet they are the same for other years also

This is why I love Spyderlovers!! Thanks everyone for all the advice and guidance - same day service too. I really appreciate it. I will head to my local hardware stores and see if I can find these tomorrow. I was riding today and saw that one was mysteriously missing from my dash. No work recently, so I have no idea where it went.

you are not the only one with missing dash hardware..I would also recheck all the others on your dash as I did find the rest of mine semi loose..

I wonder about the corrosion resistance of after market fasteners. Rusty dash bolts :yikes: will not look good and the pockets they reside in tends to hold water long after the rest of the spyder is dry.

Please don't use red lock tight on dash hardware use the blue lock tight thread locker. It will be a bitch to get off later if you use red.

:agree: I would use Stainless Steel bolts or something else that does not rust..
