• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I had to take the day off for a doc appointment tuesday. I rode my STS down to Richmond, it was an Awesome day for a ride. While I was eating that stuff they call lunch there I decided that I would stop off at the dealer and take the F3 for a spin.

When I first switched from the harley to the Spyder I intended on a RS SM5 and ended up getting the STS SE5, the F3 they had to demo was the SE6. I test rode the F3 to the Mrs.'s work, her only question was "are you trading your ST for that?", she rides a RS so that wasn't a bad thing for her to say. I still wanted the SM so I told her only if they will give me what I want price wise and ONLY if they have the SM6.

Back at the dealership they had the SM6, now the numbers. Fisrt offer wasn't cutting it, niether was the second. They finally came back with numbers that worked.

The SM6 was still in the crate in the basement/garage, I am mean, I want it NOW. Ok I didn't yell or anything but I wanted to ride it home. 2 hours after working the numbers and signing papers I was transferring eveything from the ST to the F3.

The rain rolled in and I had a not so fun trip home but it was on a brand new pearl white Spyder F3 SM6.

I just ordered the Smooth Spyder backrest for it (Jim, if you could get that to me quick, Rolling thunder is coming up and we are planning on taking the kiddos this year), much to the wifey's dismay, I didn't even think about pulling the one off the ST for her RS, we loved the Smooth Spyder backrest!!!

Darn Demo rides!!!

Congratulations..!!

There are many warning about the test rydes. Now that most shops have stock it is even worse but you made the deal and got what you wanted..:2thumbs: enjoy the new ryde and rolling thunder...

:congrats: on your new F3. Don't ride if you don't want to buy seems to be a problem for a lot of testers.:yes:

How well I understand the F3 Demo ride bait and hook....

Demo'ed at 10:45am at Spyderfest and drove out of Pitbull on my new F3 by 5pm the same day.....I took the bait. Hook line and sinker but LOVE this bike. Never felt so 'right' on any bike so far.

I put a deposit down in Jan and didn't ride a demo until April. I walked back into the dealer and the guys all started laughing because I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. The service Manager just shook his head and said' "He's got it bad. He want's his now".

Congratulation on the new bike. Awesome color choice by the way.

Thanks yall. I installed the gauge spoiler yesterday and installed the +1 linkage moving the pegs to position 4. That makes a huge difference.

You will Love the SM6

I also asked the dealer to put together the SM6 from the crate. The SE6's sell more, but the SM6's are so much more fun (or so us SM6 owners think).

You will not be disappointed, the range in gears (from the 990) is almost doubled, and you will shift less because of the outstanding low in torque. A bonus is the increased gas mileage (usually 10%) and better control on the "twistes".

EnJoy, it is the ride of our lives.

SmoothSpyder

My SmootSpyder backrest came in Saturday (thanks Jim) and I installed it. I will say the install to about a quarter of the time as it did on my STS. I really like the ratched handles instead of having to dig the wrench out of my trunk everytime the kiddo wanted to ryde with me.

So, here is the recap...
Bought it on tuesday, got the guage spoiler on thursday, bought/installed the +1 linkages to go out a bit more forward on friday and installed the SmoothSpyder backrest on saturday. Between tuesday nights rainy ride home from the dealer and adding the +1 linkages on friday and test ryding it I am just over 370 miles. Gotta make that last 230 before break in maintenance stretch into next month so I can afford the break in service.

Break in maintenance on the 1330 engine is at 3000 miles rather than at 600 miles like on the 998 engine. It appears you have a ways to go.
