• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

?Dampening question?

Lately, I have been noticing that under more aggressive riding, that the Spyder becomes a lot more difficult to turn. It feels like I have to apply 20lbs or so of pressure just to make a simple sweeping turn. I notice it alot under heavy breaking/turning as well. Ive taken the spyder to 2 differ dealers, theyve reset my computer and test drove it and tell me that they dont see the problem. Anyone else experience something simliar to this?
BTW, all my recalls are up to date.

The more agressive riding you do in turns the more G force you put on the outside wheel in the turn. This will make you apply more pressure to turn the :spyder2:. I'm sure if you added better shocks and mess with the tire pressure it could improve somewhat

What u say makes sense, but sometimes I experience it just turning at 5mph into my driveway. The random behavior baffles me =/

Intermittent losing your power steering can be anything: bad fuse, bad ground, bad new DPS unit etc.

My RT started doing a lot of weird things when the cluster was going bad. One thing was the power steering not working at times.:gaah:When the cluster was replaced the :spyder2:seemed to perform better than when it was new.

It should be harder to steer when going 5 mph--- and the surface you're on really makes a big difference. Smooth garage floor is easier to turn on than rough asphalt.

The question is -- is the problem consistently repeatable (your 5mph example) -- or can you do the exact same turn (on the same surface) - various times and it's different each time?

If it's not consistent, then you may very well have a problem with your DPS, relays, etc.....

How's your battery? any extra mods that drain power? Do you use a battery tender?

Those are some good advices. I did just recently installed a Heating Module thingy that directly hooks to the battery. Imma remove it and see how it goes. THANKS FELLAS =D

I had the same issue. I set the toe on the tires to slight toe-in. This made it night and day better. Then I added handle bar risers which gives you much more leverage.

Was your problem ever experienced under regular riding or more during aggressive riding? Ive noticed that the problem is "almost" non-existent during normal riding behavior. But when I get on it in twistys, I have more then one occation found myself in the the on-coming traffic lane. Scarey stuff =(

I did a lot of aggressive riding last weekend, and I noticed the DPS "falling asleep" a bit on a couple of occasions. It made me a little nervous, but it seemed to go away after a few miles. I thought that maybe it was just fatigue on my part. I have had all recalls performed, and this is the first time that I have noticed it. Let's stay in touch with this and see if it continues.

Most definately. Im going to bring it back to the dealership and insist on them finding the problem. Ive been on P90x and Im on my 5th rotation and never have i had a muscle problem. After a only few times riding with the random over-dampening problem; Ive thrown out my elbow and can only do 2 pull-ups before my arms starts hurting. I can usually do 15-18+ before I fatigue. =/

Also, I let my friend ride it who rode it before in the moutains and he says there's definately something wrong. He said he was just doing figure 8's in a parking lot and after only 3 mins. of riding, he said his hands started to hurt alot.

Mostly noticed it during aggresive cornering. The toe is a simple fix and many have come upon the issue. The risers make a huge difference as well.

You want to make sure you DPS is working too. You can always pull the DPS fuse to see if that makes any difference. If not, your DPS may not be functioning properly.

Good luck!
