• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Damaged Part

Hi all, I would like your opinion on accepting damage equipment. I had a dealer install Leds on my RTS to replace the front fender reflectors and the Saddlebags reflectors. Although the damaged LEDs work I want the dealer to replace the cracked LEDs. I paid for new not damaged LEDS. The dealer installed a reflector that had been glued with a clear coat substance. He stated that I should be concerned that the reflector works. I disagree because I am concern that it may not work if it gets wet in the future.

Please I would like your opinion. Thanks.

Look at it this way,
you go to the dealer to have an oil change
and you bring in your own Ames Oil, then you pick up
your ride and go to a lab for an oil test and they find
good old regular $1.50 a quart oil in it. you brought in $12.00
a quart synthectic Ames oil... would you be OK with that ?
if in your state you have a bureau of automotive repair
like California, ask them to replace the broken units or you will
turn them in. Don't stick your head in the sand say something

If they were okay and got broken during the install, the dealer owns the repair/replacement of materials and re-installation. It's their bad, not yours. You can be nice and not mention your time loss for the redo. If they balk, push back.

Already screwed

You are already screwed so don't take it back to the people who screwed you. They will only screw you again and probably worse. I'm sorry to tell you this, but it's either time to buy a manual and start the DIY process or take it to someone else. There is no good outcome to this with your current dealer. Yes you are screwed. I suggest that you share with the world who it was that screwed you so hard. You will save many others the horrible screwing that you got. Possibly you now know why I go by Ben Burped".
The LED will probably fail from the crack allowing water into it.

Demand restitution, whatever it might be.
-redo the install
-refund the cost
-provide replacement to be install elsewhere
whatever.

It becomes a matter of getting what is due and not just rolling over and accepting sub-standard.

Work your way up the chain at that dealership. Find the manager or the owner and express your disappointment.

Then after you get something out of them; take it elsewhere in the future for whatever is needed.

And if they just leave you hanging, then make sure you make it known to everyone you know and on all social media how you were treated.
