• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Damaged belt question

My bride & I were out riding yesterday & sucked a rock into the belt. The belt now has a "groove" in it, so I have to assume that will need to be replaced - what's the likelihood that the pulley(s) are toast?? Will the SpyderPops guard help this issue in the future??

ROCKY BELT

JUST HAPPENED TO SEE THIS, THOUGHT I MIGHT HELP U OUT. I DID THE SAME THING A YEAR AGO AS MY DRIVEWAY IS A 400YD LONG GRAVEL DRIVEWAY. REPLACED THE BELT, PUT ON THE SPYDERPOP ROCK GUARD AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH A ROCK. THEY WILL CHECK THE PULLEY WHEN THEY REPLACE THE BELT. NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MINE, NOT EVEN A SCRATCH. ICEMAN.

Indeed, a rock had lodged in my rear sprocket, and cut a groove in the belt. Thanks to the Blue Knight, a more reasonably priced belt was found, and will be replaced when it arrives. The rock did not penetrate the cord of the belt, but I felt it prudent to change it anyway. Neither sprocket appeared damaged, and now the only question is whither to purchase the belt tensioning device one of our sponsors offer = the SpyderPops shield is already on it's way.

If the belt arrives, she'll be back on the road this weekend...

I have had two experiences with broken belts. I try to stay off gravel roads because of this. A rock did the first belt in. The second belt was my error also--see Stupid Pills thread if interested.

Both instances in my case, resulted in replacing belt--no other hardware was destroyed. In both instances, the belt cost over $300 to get replaced.

Well, now I know something else that's changed from the 2010 models…. the left switch module on the SE5 RT. Mine was always sloppy - Dealer "X" tried to "fix" it twice, and the Longview dealer, took one look & ordered a replacement - got the new housing, but the old switches wouldn't fit...

Fortunately, it's raining this weekend…...

AND I have SpyderPop's "Missing Chain Guard" to install…..
