• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cycletrader Ads ? used 2011 Spyders ?!?

I noticed on Cycletrader all these ads for used 2011 RT's and RS's. These things are just hitting the showrooms. What gives? Surely they're not all demo's so soon. I want to buy locally, but I'm always looking at E-bay and Cycletrader.

Perhaps these are just tickler ads, or even scams? Most dealers don't even have their 2011 inventory in their shops yet, so I am sure there can't be very many used ones available already. :dontknow:

I just looked at CycleTrader and all of the 2011 listings were for new Spyders being sold by dealerships, not used. Do you have some examples?

It would not be wise for me to say their name. Its a dealer in Michigan.
All of their ads are coming up saying 2011 RT'S and RS'S . The first word in each ad is used. The pricing is new. It must be a misprint.

I must be doing something wrong then. I've done a nation wide search for any Spyder on Cycle Trader and the only 2011's I can get to come up are new, and none from a dealer in Michigan.

Just local ads based on your connection point. Almost any cycletrade search I do I get listings for Piaggio scooters and mp3s- listed as both new and used but they are all from the same dealer.

I just did it again and it came right up for me.

Criterion:
used
distance: up to 400 miles from area code 43113 (Circleville Ohio)
manufacturer: Can Am
keyword: Spyder

It came right up with a Michigan Dealer, 2011 RT'S and RS's used with new prices. I'm sure its a typo of some sort. it definitely caught my eye.

Cycletrader Ads

Being a newbie in the motorcycle/trike world I have been disappointed with the accuracy of the majority of dealer websites. It seems the vast majority of the dealers within a 150 mile radius of our home do not refresh inventory on their websites on a daily/weekly basis. I've looked at Cycle Trader numerous times calling about ads on it re: 2010 RT-S SE5s only to be told they've been sold in the past. IMHO some of the websites are a waste.

Reese
