• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cutting thru metal like butter

Very nice..!!

they have come a long way from the belt driven lathes of yore....fun to watch..thanks..!!

Precision cutting at its finest.... I recall cutting 1" carbon steel during my welding years, but nothing on the level of this.... Enjoyed...

My part was taking the machined parts and polishing them to a mirror finish by hand using air driven tools. I also assembled and tested the molds. Sidel has about 50% of the world market in blow mold technology....Pepsi, Coke, Neslie Waters, etc.
I watched the bottle for Ron Jon Surf Shops being designed several years ago. Some kind of vitamin water.

And I still get happy feet, after whittling a sharp end on a stick...:D

I had the opportunity to see several CNC machines in operation at some of my customer sites when I was working. It's amazing to see these things in action. This is where computer knowledge comes in to play. So many jobs I see advertised now require CNC training, usually at the community college level.

Here is another cool machine that I've seen in action. One is a 500 watt and the other is 2kw. I saw the 2kw in use.

Among other thing, I repaired the CNC controllers at the GM site where I worked. I retired from that job in '93, but some of it is still fascinating to watch. Anybody ever see a wire EDM machine working?

I know we make jokes because we don't quite understand the technology here, but that is awesome and a ton...I mean a ton of man hours went into making that even possible.

Awesome!

I worked in CAD drawings and operations for years....many years ago...and only dreamed this type stuff would come to pass!

Thanks for posting.

To this day I could draw that item at any angle, any scale, but to input all that info has got to be mind boggling. Loved drawing abstract 3D machine parts back before we knew what to do w it. roflmao
