• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cutting stock antenna down?

Question:

Can I cut the stock antenna down to a size I prefer, and just move the plastic nub down with it? I understand this will reduce my radio reception a bit but I never listen to radio anyway. What problems, if any, would this cause?

I wouldn't ... Broke my original and it seemed to be fiber of some kind and shredded the end. There are a number of shorty styles out there. I found on at an auto parts place that is about 2 ft long and works great. Use a 7mm wrench (I believe). Remove the old antenna and find the right adapter from the new antenna for installation. A drop of Loctite will ensure it stays in place. When complete, slide the rubber cup back down and lock it in.

Where he lives there's little humidity snd their anual rain fall is measured in cups full. :doorag::joke:
