• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Customers having RT's already?

:agree:

Well, Evan is a big boy and can more than take care of himself. As he said, he is talking to his dealer and will work on getting what he wants, for whatever he wants it for, when he wants it. I would not begin to guess at what that is or why it is important - that is his business.

I am always surprised by posts that are filled with indignation and righteous outrage when one thing like this happens. I do understand the anticipation that people who have ordered an RT must feel and in your shoes, I too would want to get it as soon as possible.

But, Jibara2733 was presented with an opportunity and was able to take advantage of it. As they have posted it, it was both fortunate and reasonable. I find it hard to understand how their good fortune devalues anyone else's purchase.

As far as the "rogue" Michigan dealer, who knows? It could be a very similar situation - or it could be a scam, even if they were a dealer and no matter what they said. Who knows if it "really happened"? It was eBay, for heaven's sake.

BRP was clear and consistent on what they were doing. They were manufacturing a certain number of 'limited edition' Spyders with specific qualities for pre-order. They also were manufacturing RTs to get to their dealerships as sales tools - based on agreements and contracts with the dealership network. You may feel this is not right or that it is a flawed business model or decision, but it was not your or my decision to make. No matter how hard I look at this whole issue, I cannot see any duplicity on BRPs part.

If being first - or being able to select the number of your RT is important, like Evan, you need to get with your dealer. See if you can be first in line or if they are getting a couple, if you can pick one over the other - whatever is important to you. If the dealer does not know, they can hardly be held accountable for meeting your private expectations. Even then, life being life, I would expect mistakes to be made.

As a person who is sitting on the sidelines - all this tempest and fury says more about you than BRP.

Tom

:2thumbs: Very well said!

The demos are NOT PE models. I just got my demo yesterday and prepped it today. I assure everyone they are not PEs. As far as the dealer in MI. I looked at the ad no where did it say it was a PE model. If it is a PE model it could be that the dealer did have a deposit on it and the customer cancelled after it came in. At that point you could either move it to the next person in line, or if no one else has a deposit on it sell it in store. If it's not a PE and the dealer demo then it is not suppose to be sold. We are getting these models for demo and display purposes. BRP does not want us to sell them for 90 days or 180 days. If the dealer is selling his demo then he is doing something out of BRP's control. Getting upset at BRP would be like getting upset at GM if your dealer messed up on financing and charged you more than what you agreed upon. Can GM (or BRP) step in, legally I would think not. They can only request and remember next time the dealer needs or wants something. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the additional information, especially coming from a dealer's perspective.

The dealer sells spyders, and has a full service dept, They only ordered 3 RTs , as they don't think there will be much demand after the first few months, I think they are wrong. But not my problem.

Ahhhh--- okay---- I thought from one of your other posts that they werw really only into the ATV end and that this was their first dealing with any Spyder.

If they've sold and serviced Spyder's before---- you should be fine!

Enjoy!
