• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Installed the HMT and Dual Brake converter from Custom Dynamics today. The install was very simple. I did remove the rear fender (9 bolts) as there was no way I could reach the right tail light plug to plug in the new harness.

All works as designed.

:2thumbs: Thanks for the post. I just got my first Spyder and was looking for the extra brake light to add. I am quickly learning about these Spyders and want to soak up all the knowledge I can. The owners event in Maggie Valley will be my first Spyder event and I hope to learn alot.

I did hold my breath as I was drilling the hole for the wires. This mod sure makes a difference in my Dark garage. :D

Did you have any issues with the wiring? I followed directions and to switch the Brown and Purple wires. The left turn signal doesn't work at all?
 
None at all. The light came with a pig tail that hooked in to the bike's harness. Unplugged the tail light and installed the pig tail. Hooked up the dual converter to the pigtail posi locks. as per a youtube video (the duel converter had no instructions). Then the HMT via posilocks. Works like a charm.

My RTL 2011 was the first HMT ever installed by the dealership and the tech got it all done and checked out by everybody but me and when they drove it out for me naturally I checked it out! But when I did it did not work. The Service Writer hollered fr the Service Manager who came out and checked it. Yes it was broke. They ran it back in and everyone including the guard dog worked to get fixed. What happened is one of the connectors broke during reassembly. The tech and everyone was really bewildered that the connector had broken.

Working still and they have had a big run on them since then with no more broken connectors
