• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Curious about new 2013 Spyders

Last year in mid July 2011 Can-Am went public with pictures and info about the then "new" 2012 models. Shortly after that Spyderlovers member Lamonster visited corporate BRP and posted pictures of the new models. It is about the same time this year and I've been searching for info on 2013 models and am only finding hearsay and speculation including some conversations about a potential ST model that is somewhere between the RS and RT. I am not a Spyder owner yet, but have been on two demo rides and hope to make a purchase next year, which is why I am inquiring about the new models. Any information anyone can provide would be helpful. thank you

Thanks, Fly! I was just going to throw that date out here!
So from the middle of September on; this place will be NUTZ with all of the rumors flying around...

Lamonster is at Magog this week, fingers crossed he will sneak some pictures of the new rigs while visiting BRP and post, or send to someone to post so he can pled ignorance to BRP :lecturef_smilie:

You really think that's gonna happen? Lamont wouldn't do that.....

Highly unlikely. Pretty sure they want things under tight wraps until 09-23-12.....

Harry, lets get some ninja suits and fix this issue. Its go time, RELEASE THE SPYDER MONKIES!

:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

It seems like the realease information and pictures came out late last year. September or so???????

Thanks everyone for the updated info...

I found postings on spyderlovers.com along with pictures taken by Lamonster of the "new 2012's" in mid July 2011, BRP's website showed the new models around the same time as well.
That's why I've been searching for updated info now. Although it seems everyone here is saying I'll have to wait till Sept for the new info. Waiting to see any changes and especially if the rumors about the ST model come true to help me with my decision.

In Durgano they specifically said 09-23-12. Waiting could be good for buying a 2012 Spyder if the 2013's don't end up tripping your trigger.... you'll be able to save some $$$ on a 2012.

Last year BRP had their big dealer meeting called Club BRP in July with thousands of dealers from all over the world. They announced new models and colors for their entire line-up at Club.

This year Club isn't until September (you guessed it, the 23rd). I'm guessing they like to hold off big announcements until events like this.
So I imagine we won't hear anything until then.

Your Smart to take your time and wait for the New (SubTerrianian) Model:roflblack: I,m doing the same before I even consider a Test Ride on an RT because whether the New Model is a "Knock Out?" or "Butt Ugly?" Everything will be cheapest in Nov-Jan when they try to unload leftovers!nojoke

Ah the answer finally, thank you FaranH! Announcement coordinated with corporate Club BRP, thats the answer to why I had info in July last year and cant find any this July. I guess I'll have to wait till September now.

Sarge: You are considering giving up your RS for RT? If so, why? During my demo ride I did find the RSS a bit forward with positioning sort of "crotchrockety" (felt it in my back and legs after my 40 minute demo ride) Seems lots of low mile RSes can be found on cycletrader.com, and can't help but wonder if all these owners are abandoning their RS for an RT shortly after purchasing. I'm holding my breath for the ST rumor to be true, as it sounds ideal to me.

Anyone else out there with some advise for me? Purchase will be in 1st half of 2013. RS vs RT?

Thanks again!

Wilson

I,m 63 and Love the GS/RS platform because I can rip to 60 real quick and get my kicks. The GS/RS just feels more like I,m on a crotch rocket and it would take something a lot MORE special than the RT to get me to trade it in. I,m not opposed to owning 2 Spyders ?

May be someone knows something or speculating too???
Honda of toledo who's been selling spyder stuff steadily On ebay with small discount started dump rs stuff cheap.
$250 for brp hid, 240 for fog and other stuff. Could be just a coincidence but... Plus brp offering extra warranty in middle of the season.

Just my $00.02, my GS(RS) has highway pegs, 4" risers, narrowed mount for risers, Russel Day Long seat, and Lamonster's first handbrake(still going strong on first brake cable). It has more leg room than the RT(sat on mine and then sat on an RT). Bad knees makes me want to keep my GS.

Harry, lets get some ninja suits and fix this issue. Its go time, RELEASE THE SPYDER MONKIES!

I'm game, I'm off to Magog myself Friday, I don't have ninja suit but I can borrow my son's black PJ's

I was going to bring my cloak of invisibility, but I can't find it. That thing is more trouble than it's worth, once you put it down it a bugger to find again.
