• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

why do these people complain about the spyders some of these people sound like a punch of cry babys

I wouldn't wish the problems I am having with my 2013 RT-S on anyone. I am not "crying" I am putting information here so others may see the problems so as it helps them.:lecturef_smilie:

That being said I hope you never have the issues some of the Spyder owner's are having.

He has had his share of trouble on his what is 2010-2011 Spyder but take a walk in 2013 shoes if they don't melt that is. As far as us complaining

you know that's a pretty rude comment, we are not looking for attention from you nor do we want your sympathy we just want what we paid for. i don't know what you are riding but if you had problems i am sure we would hear it because that is what forum's are for. with all the bikes i have owned and all the forums i have joined this one seems to have the most people that complain about other peoples problems. there are lots of great people on here that really try to help like it should be with advice, and we have a few laughs doing it. but than there is people like you that call us cry baby's and i take that as a personal insult. so i really feel if you have nothing constructive too say than you shouldn't say anything and i wish you lots of luck with your ride and think your lucky to have no problems

Aren't we being just a wee bit inflammatory this morning??? :gaah:
The problems and complaints are real; the trick is to figure out who's trying to find solutions, and who's just looking for some cheese to go with their "whine"
Give 'em a break and read something else...

Just want to be sure I understand this.

So...........you come on here crying about what you perceive to be crying by others?

OK. Got it. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Vertica Trykes Top Vents

I thought I'd post an encouraging message for the heat issues. I just installed the Vertica Trykes Top Vents on my 2013 RTS SE5 and took a 6 hour interstate ride yesterday. Admittedly the day was a little cool, with temps in the 60's near 70. I set my cruise at 75, which should produce enough heat to give it a test. I placed my hands on the body at the front of the seat and the glove box to check for heat. In the past the Spyder would always be hot. I do have the Kewl Metal airbox installed, so there is plenty of room for air to circulate. Nevertheless, before the vents were installed, I would still get a lot of heat. Yesterday, however, the Spyder was consistently cold while I was riding. Of course when I finally had to stop for traffic, after getting off the interstate, the body did warm up as usual. But, while riding at highway speeds the vents did their job beautifully. Yes, the vents are quite expensive and we shouldn't have to spend money to fix the problem. But, the vents work and I'm glad I did it.

you gotta admit that it's a fine looking resolution to the problem!:firstplace:

But why should it be at the owners expense ?
People that are upset and voicing real concerns are not crying and I not only encourage it but feel it is one of the functions of this site. BRP has left a lot of people hanging with issues they should have realized, acknowledged and resolved.

I remember when my dad owned a Sunbeam 500 (?) motorcycle...an air cooled in-line twin and we (Yeah, I rode it too) suffered from excessive oil temperature. We always used Castrol R (Mum always hated that beautiful smell) in all the bikes in those days (the 50's). What he did was fabricate his own oil cooler from copper pipe with spiral fins from an industrial oil system. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q...6C717A008898D2FECEC663F72B216&selectedIndex=2

:agree: But... I'd rather find a fix and implement it; than wait for somebody else while my bike sits... :shocked:

There are a lot of folks trying to figure out a "fix" and all the input is appreciated. But BRP knows there is a problem. I wish they would 'fess up and do the research and testing that should have been done before they released the machines to the public. When I first started to read this forum, the big issue was the power steering going out unexpectedly. BRP acknowledged the problem, found a cure and now no one is afraid to buy an '08, '09, or '10 because of steering. Be nice if BRP would come up with something other than masking tape for the heat problem. Everyone knows that is a bandaid. I enjoy my '13, but don't want to SCARE ANYONE! :)
