• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Crushed my frunk from underneath

About a week ago I was heading down a local 4-lane road when I saw a concrete rock on the road in front of me. I hadn’t seen it earlier because of the car that was going over it. I was unable to stop and there wasn’t room to maneuver to either side.

Long story short, I hit it straight on. I hit it with my bump skid and it came up under the bike. One of my radiator leaf covers flew off, the bottom of the bump skid is chewed up but the worse part is my frunk has a crack on the bottom and the I can see that it some places it is hanging lower than before.

I’ve already ordered a replacement bump skid and frunk - I guess I’ll spend this weekend taking the frunk apart. The bike can still be driven and the wheels still seem to be in line.

:yikes: I'm sorry to hear that this happened.
But the good news: nobody got hurt!
While you've got the nose off of the bike: take a REAL close look at the frame: they bend real easy! :banghead:

Ouch. Sorry to hear about your mishap. Bob is right, once everything is off check the frame rails and other bits because the Spyders are not built very robustly.

Yikes...!!!

Glad you made it over safely but sorry it did all that damage. Did you take it apart...? you have a sub-frame under the frunk that may be the problem as well and could be the cause of the uneveness. Depending on how hard the bumping around was I would still check your alignment when possible.

Sorry for the trouble. Just never know when those darn gremlins are going to show up and bite you. :gaah:Good luck with the repairs

Glad you got by without anything worse happening. Same situation happened to me when a dog run out of the ditch. My choice was hit the dog or drive head on into the oncoming semi. Dog lost. Hit him square head on and he flew up and over the Spyder. Similar damage. Cost a couple $K to repair. No frame damage for me. Bike runs like it never happened.

Stuff does happen--when you least expect it. :yikes::yikes::yikes:
