There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I got six of each so Iv got a few spares ready to go for my next few oil changes. (Saves over $100 bucks)

Please elaborate on "Nut and Bolt shop??" the only thing we have around here is Fastenal, but you have to purchase in bulk packages of 50-100 of everything. . Does NAPA have stuff like this? Or one of the auto parts chains?

I saw some crush washers for sale from one of the online motorcycle superstores (Motosports or something like that... :dontknow: ). I'm not sure if their sizes of washers fit the Spyder but you could buy them in singles and I think they were cheaper than the BRP washers.

You should be able to get these copper washers from most of the speacialty shops that sell fasteners like screws, bolts, etc.
Im from Australia so I can"t help with specific suppliers in your area.
Can someone please help with some supplier names for the US. :opps:

Gazey thanks for the info.

I bet we can find these parts on the internet.

I will do some looking today and post what I find.

I say this because if I can find parts for my no name air compressor on line, these parts can be found too.:2thumbs:

OK quick look on the internet. Just type in metric crush washer and I got a link to shopping.com.

I tnink you could also find them at most auto parts stores and hardware stores.

I was told by dealer that they do not stock the BRP crush washers, but use generic ones they buy in bulk. Crush washers have longer than one cycle life and they often reuse them, but if they do replace, its from the bulk bag. If dealer changed your oil, check your itemized receipt to see if they charged you for new ones. If not, they probably just used the originals, especially on the early oil changes when they didn't have them.

THIS MAY SOUND LIKE A DUMB QUESTION, BUT ARE THE TWO CRUSH WASHERS (OIL TANK--ENGINE BLOCK) DIFFERENT SIZE ID. I HAVE NOT CHANGED THE OIL MYSELF YET. THE O-RING DIMENSIONS DON'T LOOK RIGHT TO ME (OR IS IT JUST ME). NOT BEING PICKY SIMPLY TRYING TO GET IT RIGHT BEFORE I PURCHASE.:dontknow:

The crush washers are different sizes. When you inspect them to see if they can be reused, look for indentations where the plug sat (compession mark), nicks, burrs, or scratches. Any of these will make a leak possible. As an alternative, pretend it's a British bike, let it leak, and ride until the oil on the rear tire is so thick the nanny kicks in. :D

.
I have had good success in the past on other bikes by inverting the washers. A ridge is generally imprinted on one side... invert and keep using.

I measured these sizes form the ones I ordered and paid for from BRP. They came in little sealed packets with BRP and part numbers stamped on them.
The reason I measured them and posted the sizes is because I thought it was a bit of a rip off.

Mine were under $5 for the o-ring and under $2 ea for the crush washers from the dealer.

Probably should have said in my post that the prices quoted are in AUD.
For some reason this means that the dealers double the USD price
I don't realy know why as the the exchange rate is around 75 cents.
But you know how it works, Prices are quick to go up and slow to go down.

.
I have always annealed the copper washers on other bikes I've had (heat copper to a red heat and quench in cold water). This softens the copper again, as copper will work and age harden, so may not seat properly when re used.

holy cow - your dealer is ripping you off. I just bought 2 of each for less than 5 bucks total - and yes they are the BRP OEM
