• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

cruising rpms?

Hummm !!!

I go to 4th at 4500-5000 and gon't go to 5th until 6000.

6000/7000 is a good cruise speed.. Of course on the expressway .

Those of you getting 33+ miles per gal must not be going over 45 miles per hour on flat ground, as I have never, in 5,000 miles, got over 30.5, and then only once, and I think the wind was from behind and the shield acted like a sail.

It must be all of those steep hills around Kissimmee that's killing your mileage... :roflblack: Either that or the summer heat is evaporating the fuel out of your tank...
The Missus and I cruise comfortably at 55mph... We just don't make a great habit out of trying to play "racer" when we climb on the :spyder:

(Note: I said ":spyder:", and NOT ":spyder2:"! ) :roflblack:

5,000 RPM seems to be the magic number for me. I go about 250 and rarely ride two up and see a lot of curvy and mountanous roads here in WV. I have about 5,000 on my 2010 RT and find that people who get 30+ MPG run high test without the added ethanol and run slower speeds for the most part on flat lands. Ethanol in regular will not harm the engine (so they say) but it sure knocks the heck out of MPG. If I stay below 5,000 rpms in any gears I care to run the mileage will stay around 28+ but I have never seen 30 MPG yet! I run the trike with spirit and enjoy the freedom of 3 wheels and indeed have never shifted as low as Bob shifts.

Indeed when the trailer goes on the mileage goes way down especially if it is windy. I have seen under 24 MPG several times with the trailer on and in the wind. I truly think the trike is more stable with the trailer but it sure eats fuel and takes awhile to get used to that trailer mode higher shifting points the mode forces you to use. I would say I average about 26 MPG overall using regular fuel and slightly higher if I use high test like around 27 MPG at most. It likes the high test but with the prices I use regular for the most part.

Not near as fuel efficient as a two wheeler in any form but it gets me on the trike at least. Bill ;)
