• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cruise Control on the RT

When I'm on the freeway or a level stretch of road and there's not a lot of traffic, I use the cruise control. It lets my right hand rest. I find it very useful.

Just to have it. I think it's cool. Just wait he next feature will be "look mom no hands" on handle bar.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::yes:

Ditto on all the above:agree: It really relieves your right wrist from strain. Also allows me to grab my Butler drinking mug for my morning coffee or afternoon ice water:clap:

Like the above posters said. Convenience and comfort for me. I reserve it for stretches on the highway where running without having to shift gears in 4th or 5th. I am guessing that you probably lose a mile or so per gallon on fuel economy because the :spyder2: is always trying to match the speed you set.

I like the feature a lot. That was one of the things I missed when I was driving my Kawi Vulcan.

Cruise Control

:agree: with all the above, plus, when traveling with another Spyder it's easier to stay together. You're not always speeding up or slowing down. Wife & I always decide what speed we want to travel and set the Cruise accordingly (that way we don't have other vehicles in between us). Bandit:doorag:

Which is correct?

A- It allows me to text easier because one hand is free?

B- It allows me to go "No Hands- Hands in the Air "as people pass me to freak them out?:opps:

Answer is "B'? I don,t have or use a Smart phone.:lecturef_smilie:

I really like having it on the highway, after I know I won't have to change gears for a while. As mentioned before, my main reason is to let me relax my right hand.

As to affecting mileage, it would depend on how you drive. If you tend to hold a constant throttle and go fast down hills and slow going up, the cruise control will help you keep a steady speed, but may cost you in mileage. On the other hand, if you have a tendency to neglect the speed limits and frequently realize you're speeding and have to slow down (your speed varies from your driving style instead of the terrain), you'll probably see a saving.

Cruise Control

:duh: If you got it why not use it!
My primary usage is speed control. I also use it to relax my handgrip and the wobbly squiggly wandering in my traffic lane. I don't really want to not do that. It keeps the tailgaters off your backup lights. Some times you. Get the feeling they want to climb on the back seat and ride with you.
