• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have a 13 RS and was thinking installing cruise.

Is there a switch I can purchase to install without making something homemade ?

Know everything is there

Thanks

cruise control

the blank that is there in the switch position currently is molded in place by two small pins. If you can get a hack saw blade or sawzall blade in behind it to cut it then you will have salvaged the switch mechanism that you need. You will just need to fabricate the external portion of the switch and reconnect it to the piece behind the blank. On is a slide to the right, set/decelerate is rocked down toward the ground and resume/ accelerate is rock upward with off being slide back to the left.

Good luck, if by some chance things go bad the right handle bar electronics for an RSS is ~ $420.00; ask me how I know. This is the easiest way to achieve cruise, and worth the cost for the convenience of being able to set and cruise down the road. Makes those long days more enjoyable.

Mine does not recognize that cruise is there and does not turn on the indicator light on the dash. Otherwise works just fine. So the short answer is you can't buy the switch repeatedly to install.

There was a post about 12-18 months ago on how to do this without buying the new module for the right handle bar. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

When visiting for service I asked my local dealer if they had any defective right-hand pull-offs and he gave me the one he had. I took it apart and removed the lever-button and put it on my 2013 RS and now I have a working cruise control!

Check around to see if you can find a pull-off for free!

Wow; that's great; hang onto that dealer!!!

There you have it....

I have a built in cruise control....it's called arthritis..:roflblack: once in a cruise position good for hours, but takes a while to get the hand back to normal....so just use the cramp buster... but have seen the mods mentioned above for adding it back in....

If you do go this route I would ensure to get something better than a Throttlemeister as I hated mine.

No add-on cruise unit needed for 2013 and later models of RS and ST, the cruise control is already on the Spyder, just missing the mechanical lever/knob, which is not available separately.
