• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cowtown = WOWTown!

Confirmed: Doc is a Wildman and SethO is Crazy! I know, old news. But now I have personal experience and I discovered the stories I've heard do not do either of them justice.

They are bad enough on their own but when you put them together there is some kind of chemical reaction that intensifies their conditions.

And let me tell you, Debbie was hanging right in there. She put some heat on the boys at the drag races. If you don’t think the Hindle is loud enough, go check out Debbie’s! The only pipe there that gave Doc a run for his DB’s.

Cowtown was an experience that, if you were so unfortunate as to have missed it, I feel sorry for you. I do not know how they did it on such short notice but this event was better than some that have had a full year to prepare. Honestly, one of the best I've ever been to!

Maybe it was the spontaneity that helped make this so special. That and the great bunch of SpyderLovers that showed up. What a great dealership Cowtown has created. And what a great time they showed us. Somehow, it felt like family right from the start.

As always, it was great to meet everyone. I do not know how we can top this one but I’m all for trying!

Racing!? Who said anything about Racing!? :dontknow: Certainly upstanding citizens like Doc and SethO would never consider such an illegal act! :lecturef_smilie:

Here is how it was explained to me. "There is NOTHING ILLEGAL about ROAD TESTING these fine machines!"

Sounds reasonable.....Right!?

While it is true that some ROAD TESTED their Spyder more than others, and there were those who watched as the TESTING was performed, this does not necessarily constitute a racing event.

The BRP sales rep sat next to me while the "TESTERS" went by and mumbled something about how this was not endorsed by BRP. Not sure what he meant by that remark.

I watched all the testing and in my opinion, Doc's Spyder tested best with SethO's machine testing a close second. I would have liked to see Deb "TEST" with SethO as I think she had the 3rd best "Test" runs and might have been close to his machine in "Testing" abilities.

All-in-all, I'd say it was a good day of testing there at Cowtown. I myself had the urge to test my Spyder until I saw Deb shutting down (I mean, out testing) several others. My fragile ego could not take the hit if I lost (I mean, tested poorly). :D

Next time . . . . .

. . . . . . Deb should "Test" without her trailer! :D

Looks like everyone had a great time, wish I could have been there.

Looks like you all had an awesome time. Sorry we couldn't be there. Seems like all you east coast folks have all the fun. :D

Everyone was invited! Even Frisco Spyderlovers! :D

It was strange that no one west of Missouri came (as far as I know).

We sure did have a GREAT time!

:agree:
We had a good east coast showing in Hollywood but I got to say that this event was as good if not better. I'm sure with more time to plan next year will be even better. I hope the west coast folks make it out for that one. :doorag:

Yah every once and awhile I would look at the Map Pins that we recieved at registration and I beleive you are correct as I know it in your statement:

It was strange that no one west of Missouri came (as far as I know).

I didn't see any pins out west... I'm sure next year they will show up..

Yes, I was going by the pin map. I suppose it is possible that someone came out from the west and didn't put a pin in the map.

Well--- I tested poorly against Deb... but I'm blaming it on her newly rebuilt engine.....:D.

All and all most of the 'testing' was pretty consistent from Spyder to Spyder.
the major difference is 90% on the takeoff and how much 'tire slippage' you get.

Sorry Lamont, we are keeping you on the east of the Mississippi. I know you hail from California but you now call home Tennessee. That is where your house is, that is where your wife is and that is where the BBQ is. LOL :D

A few pics: Lamont watching his flock; the obligatory Big Chair photo; our Most Excellent host Len Damouth (note the tattoo); taking over the streets of Cuba; dinner at Frisco's.
