Cost of oil change

Had my first service done by the dealer for just over $250. That included several things other than the filter/oil change. Am getting the gear together to do the next oil change myself. Got the filter from BRP dealer - $15.00. Got the oil from a local motorcycle supply store. $7.95 for 5-40 synthetic per quart vs $15.00 at the dealer. Ordered the two crush washers and O ring from the dealer today. $2.79 ea. for the washers and $6.79 for the oil ring. Well over $12.00 total. They were not in stock and had to be special ordered. When they come in, I am going to my local hardware/electronic store with the new pieces and match them up . I'll bet I won't have two dollars in the whole thing. I know that the dealer has to make a profit on his parts, etc., but I can't stand being ripped off like this. Hope they enjoy their profit on that sale because I won't be back.

Don't feel bad Jack. I just had a guy replace about 5' of pipe on my septic line and he charged me $550.00 and it took him two hours start to finish. :edit: That will be the last dime he gets from me or any of my friends in this town. I hate getting ripped off like that. :cus:

I just had my service done 620 mi. , $129.00 for service $64.00 for parts but they are made out of gold :edit: : ,i also will be doing some shopping for my own oil changes.
