Corbin Trunkbox

I sent them an email inquiry but have not heard back yet. Some of you are considerable more familiar with Corbin products than others due to your close proximity to their facility and personal/professional relationships with their staff. Has anyone heard if their yet-to-be-released Trunkbox doubles as a passenger backrest? I assume it does but there is so little information "out there". If so, does the $899 price include some kind of padding for the passenger to lean back against? Does the Trunkbox have any forward/rearward movement (like the BRP passenger backrest) to accommodate passenger preferences in that regard (I'm guessing it does not ... but it certainly should for that price)?

Corbin Trunk/Helmet Case

I have the following from a reliable source:

First of all, the helmet case that is presently being designed will have a large tail/brakelight attached to the back/bottom of
the unit. The rear plastic cover -- on mine it's the rear yellow piece
above the tailights -- has to be removed to install the
tailbag. To cover that space they have added a light. It will be nice
to have more lights back there given that the standard
tailights are so small.

Corbin is working on a much larger tailbag which will fit TWO full
faced helmets. It will have optional "arms" (think of the
Goldwing) for the passenger's stability and comfort.

Third, he is working on new front fenders that will be more "angular"
to fit in with other design areas of the Spyder.

This was reported to me at the end of September; there will most likely be changes including delays caused by the recession.

Yea, Rando ... that's the one to which I was referring. But I will definitely wait for as long as it takes for the two-helmet version with the (hopefully) optional passenger armrests. Being a former Wing Nut myself, I (and of course my wife) was spoiled by the cacoon in which the Goldwing passenger was enclosed. Barbie actually tended to fall asleep in that seat. I could always tell by the shift in balance as she slumped to one side.

It would be great thing for us to have that two helmet trunkbox with the armrests in time for our cross-country trip in September. I did not hear they were going to do that.... sounds like it would be worth waiting for for some of us. I've always wanted a fully dressed GoldWing trike... so a fully dressed Spyder would be even better!

I visited Corbin back in October they did say they were working on the design of a trunk with arm rest. I think I'll wait for it.

I purchased 2 corbin seats and a back rest and trunk compartmentand let me tell you it is not worth the money!!!!! It took almost three months to get all the parts and when they came the trunk compartment lock will not catch, informed Corbin of this an a Mr.sergio stated he would fix, waited another 22 months and Mr Sergio was nasty in the email to me after I asked how long it would take to replace the first one. Well the replacement came and it is the same way now I have two backrest compartment that will not lock.. I will fix both of them myself and sell the other one.. just the compartment silver in color any takers..
