• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Corbin Seat - Part 1

A big box showed up at the front door today! I ordered a heated Corbin seat with a single standard backrest that can go in either the driver or passenger position. Since the installation is a touch more than plug-and-play, I won't get it installed until later in the week. For now, a sneak peak...

Very nice..!!

that is a good looking seat. Hope you get back to us with some pictures and a review...:2thumbs: congrats..!!

The only thing that needs to be done is to relocate the locking pin. That was moved to the middle to give more padding where needed. It's not plug and play but not bad either, I did mine in a parking lot. :doorag:

It was a fairly smooth installation - about 50 minutes or so. I lost a little time looking for one of the nuts used in the original rear seat locking mechanism attachment. It slid down the inside of the rear wheel splash guard, hit the frame and something else, but not the floor... Good thing I didn't need it again. I may pull the right panels in the morning to see if I can find it. One question for Lamont - do you know if there's a planned home under the seat for the toolkit that was attached to the OEM rear seat? I tossed it in the frunk for now.

I'll get some pics tomorrow. First impression of the seat - it is very firm. Hope to put a few miles on it tomorrow morning.

I don't think so. Not likely to make any changes at this point.
The seat is firm but for the long haul that's better. :doorag:

RE: Firmness of the seat. That is the Corbin way. There used to be talk of about a 500 mile break-in period for the seat to get acclimated to your bottom. The firmness is actually good for support, you will never complain that the Corbin is to cushy. If you need some softness on a real long ride, add a sheepskin/gel or an Airhawk pad.

I have 59,000 Corbin seat miles under my belt.

Just did a ride around the block, and I'm already a fan of the firm seat. Found the nut I lost last night during the installation - it was sitting on top of the cat converter. Took some pics with the backrest in both locations. May just order a second backrest when the saddlebags become available.

Glad to hear you like it. You are very special. When one loses a bolt or nut into the bowels of the :ani29:, they are usually gone forever. The bolt I lost in the 2009 was never found.
