• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Corbin Passenger Armrests

My RTS has Corbin passenger armrests and I'm kinda wanting to remove them. If/when I do some touring, I'll want to use the back seat for carrying gear, and they might be in the way.

Does anyone know if the all stock backrest stuff is under them? In other words, if I remove the Corbins, will I end up with holes there and have to find replacement body parts to restore the stock look?

You need to replace the Corbin armrests with the stock ones that came with it.
I believe these are the part numbers
LH 708000614 $53
RH 708000615 $53
screws are extra

Actually I found the armrests to be an asset when I was getting "geared up" to go to 2011 spyderfest. (unfortunately my spyder crapped out and I wasn't able to attend). I had a nice sized carry bag and then on top of it a smaller one. They fit snuggly in the seat and I was able to bungie them down. I'm not even sure I needed to bungie in that they were snugged in so good. I had a laptop that was in between the two bags.

Arm rests

I still have mine from when I installed them. If interested in them send me a IM. I watched when they installed them and I wouldn't want to go back there. Not an easy fix.

i prolly should do a packing dry run. I want to carry a tent across the back seat. As long as it, and any other longer items will fit under the armrests it may work.

RCDurango, I sent you a private message.

You are wise to do a dry run. Be sure to raise the seat when you do it, to be sure you can fuel. You may be better off with the luggage strapped on vertically, between the armrests. I recommend motorcycle cargo straps for lashing things down. They loosen easily at fuel stops, allowing enough play to raise the seat. Of course if you also have the Corbin seat, that is unnecessary. The best cargo straps I have found are the Helen2Wheels straps, ROK Straps, and PiggyBack straps.

Sorry, I don't have a picture of this stuff loaded on my RT, but I have done it. BTW, a small tent may actually fit in the left saddlebag or front compartment.
