• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

not one to complain ...and yes i understand i ride year round ... but ..... when my 90 lb daughter came to visit and this happens ... i'm not happy ...
i would understand if i used passenger seat all the time but i hardly ever use it (Dee has her own spyder ) the back seat was never right .... at first it leaned passenger to far forward .... then i sent it back ...corbin in turn beefed up the front of the seat making it feet like you would fall off of it on sharp turns ... now i'm taking my $1000.00 heated seat to a local shop to have it redone right this time .... dished out for passenger and maybe jell seat for me ...take heat out (that i never use) and maybe done in manta ray skin ..... again not one to complain but for $1000 i wouldnt think the stitching should have let go on a seat that is hardly used ...

p.s. sorry i havent been around ...been busy with kids ,grand daughter , house and work ...
ride safe everyone

Looks like the stiching failed. Wonder if something acidic like pop or something got spilled on the seat causing the stiching to weaken? I would think Corbin would fix this for no charge but having someone local that can customize it for a perfet fit makes more sense.

I believe that Corbin is a very reliable company. I have bought 2 fairings, two large travel trunks, and two seats--all with no problems. The big complaint is how expensive the merchandise is.

I don't believe I have seen anyone else complain of the stitching coming apart like yours did. I would recommend giving Corbin a chance to fix it.

I have owned two Corbin seats on different :spyder2:'s with over 40,000 combined miles on the seats-- no problems whatever with stitching coming apart. I put over 4000 passenger miles on my current seat with our combined weights of almost 400#--through all kinds of weather this summer--still no problem.

I am sorry for your problem. Let us know how it works out.

I would hope Corbin would stand behind this. I know the care you take in your bike. This must be a defect that a good
Sponsor like Corbin would stand behind. I know Reggie stands behind his Tricleds products 100%. Good Luck buddy!

nothing was spilled on it ...i dont even wash my spyder:joke:

Bummer about the stitching. Corbin seats always seemed to hard for my liking but I do find the heated option and the gas door option appealing. Just curious what is it that you don't like about the heated seat? I know you ride pretty much all year and I would think that heated seats would be great.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine is falling apart too and is one step better than a rock. Been on Spyder for 20,000 miles and two years and eight months. JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My opinion on heated seat is ,,, yes your butt is warm but everything else feels colder ... I think it is better when every part of you is at same tempature

Seat

:agree: Corbin Seats are junk, looks good, an that's as far as it goes. Sold the one I ordered on eBay for a 1/3 of what it cost, and really felt bad about selling the guy such a junkie seat. Replaced it with the comfort seat in 2009 and have never looked back.

Soooooo.... What brands of seats whould you guys be suggesting then? I had my heart set on a Corbin, but now you've got me nervous...

?? do you not have some of the good oldfashioned "handworkers" .. my seat was finished over the night - we used the body of the original seat - gave the skin and the foam away ( so I still can use it - if I want to sell it) .. and built up a "not-so-hot & little deeper for my girl" seat .. ( the cost ? - I repaired his TV)

That makes sense.

I don't have one on the Spyder, but IMO you can't beat a Russell Day-Long. If you act fast you can get in on their annual group buy discount.

Joe is campaigning really hard for a Russell Day-Long for his VRod. I'm glad that I like my stock seat I can go 500 miles in a day with no pain.

I agree, Besides even at 10 degrees f and less my seat stays warm by compression alone.

Cant blame ya for being upset with Corbin. Mine came, after 3 months of waiting, with the wrong stitching, crooked welts, hitting on the glove box no matter how I adjusted it and no personalized embroidering that I ordered. They wanted me to send it back, stating they wont take orders over the phone for personalized work, but they took my order just fine. I am real glad the Goldwing seats are real comfortable right off the showroom floor.

This is what happens....

....when a company gets so big, customer service, quality, and craftsmanship declines. Mike Corbin better get a hold of
his company.
