• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cooling Vents 2014 Spyder RT Limited

Installed the cooling vents on Saturday (finally). Rode on Sunday, huge difference in temperature coming from the glove box area. Not more toasted nuts. First side took quite awhile, being extra careful before drilling and cutting. Second side to half the time. One of the better mods I've done. Only problem, broke one of the fasteners on the panels that pushes into a grommet. Looked on Cheap Bike Parts and Can AM, couldn't find the numbers, so if anyone has info, I would appreciate it.

CopperSpyder,
Thanks for the help but those aren't the fasteners I was talking about. I'm sure my explanation is confusing. These are the two fasteners on the panel below the glovebox. Its a long panel, has 2 bolts under the mirror and 1 bolt under the black plastic piece in the frunk. The fasteners push into rubber grommets, they're 2 the panel. The outside of the fasteners looks like torque heads that you would unscrew, the inside of the panel they're a rubber type peg that pushes into the grommet.
Again, I appreciate your response. Thanks

Those are tamper resistant Torx with a curved post I would call my dealer and have them order them for you, they aren’t expensive and if you get them to order you may not pay any shipping. If you order on a website you will pay shipping for sure. You’ll need a tamper resistant Torx bit to remove the broken post.

With the right tamper-proof torx bit you can change the position of the curved plastic piece that slips into the grommet so it'll slide in easier, with a little spit in the grommet, it'll slide in easier also.

Or you can do what I did .... I removed them completely and re-placed with screw threaded bolts ..... Mike

I always have a hard time putting those panels back on. Few words and a couple of thrown tools and I get them on. lol. I added the vents a couple of days ago after having them for 5 years.

davev1pa- I had mine for quite awhile. Just decide to take my time on the first one. I had the directs printed out from a forum user here. They're a couple of holes that are hard to mark to drill, the forum users used double sided tape, kind of complicated. I used Can Ams direction, straw from WD40 can and some paint to mark the holes. That worked well for me. As I said before, the first side took along time, the second probably a 1/3 of the time. You can do this and it does help.
