• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Coolant tank rupture

Last week I took my :spyder:to the dealer for a overheating issue. As soon as it warmed up to 4 bars coolant streamed out the right side. I thought it was coming from the overflow hose. I suspected a bad thermostat or even a bad water pump. As it turn out the tank had split and when the pressure built up it opened up and the coolant flowed. Seems as though the cap had malfunctioned causing the tank to build more than the 15 lbs of pressure it is supposed to, which caused the tank to split. A new tank and cap solved that. While there the :spyder: went into limp mode caused by the 02 sensor. A new sensor was installed and now my :spyder: runs smooth as silk when it gets hot. I had noticed for some time that it ran like crap (popping & cracking) when the temps reached the high 80's & 90's. We rode over 1400 miles with the temps around 96 over 3 days and it performed great. The engine temps stayed at 3-4 bars mostly only reaching 5 bars when we were in city traffic during rush hour. The guys at East TN ATV save me from making the trip in the cage.

Glad you got it fixed.

Glad to hear you got it fixed YP. How long was it out of service? Warranty work I assume?

My spyder's reservoir was replaced twice with exact same problem, split at the seam in the middle of the tank. It was a warranty repair but had wait for reservoir to be delivered. First one at 14000 miles than 37000.

Coolant tank

Mine cracked at about 9,500 miles.

Took the Spyder to the dealer, they had the bike almost a week and said they couldn't find any leak...even though the coolant level was going down.
I told them to check the bottle, they called 3 days later and said I was right, it was the bottle. Took them almost another 2 weeks to get me one.

Well, I let my warranty run dry last Dec. This was on me, however my dealer East TN ATV came through for me. They didn't have the parts in stock. They took them off of a new Spyder and got me running in one day. I really appreciated that as we were leaving on a 1,400 mile trip the next day. If my warranty was still in tact it would have been better but I really can't complain about the SERVICE.:firstplace:
