My RTs in the shop right now for a TB replacement. When we got back from our last outing, I noticed the coolant level had dropped from the max line to the min line and there were a couple of drops just under what appeared to be the overflow tube. The next day is when I discovered the rough idle idle issues and a P1614 code, I checked and couldn't see anything wet, so I figured I'd just ask the dealer when I dropped it off. As I was backing it out of the driveway my wife noticed a wet spot under the bike, but other than the few hard starts to get the TB error to clear, the bike hadn't been moved.
Dealer just called and said the P1614 code I dropped off the bike for was not found, but the are changing the TB on good faith, and there was no leak in the coolant system either! First off, I thought codes were sticky and would remain on memory!? I'm glad the dealer is taking card of it. I'm assuming they are confident enough in what I described to know there's an issue, but why would the violent level drop, leak in my garage, but not show up otherwise? Could there be some crazy relationship between the two symptoms? I don't think I've ever had a coolant leak appear and disappear like this and not sure I want to be too far from home unless the mystery is solved. Anyone else have this experience?
