• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cool! Google Earth caught my Spyder!

So my Spyder is officially in space ;)

Well captured from space anyway....

The satellite that takes pictures from space took a picture of my Spyder parked at my work parking lot yesterday.

Strange that it looks redish in color. I have a black cloth RS cover that I use and after 3 years it is a little faded so I guess it looks dark maroon from space.

:congrats:
But if you hadn't circled it; this could have been turned into a contest...
Google Earth apparently hadn't found us yet...
The pictures that I've seen of my office still show a truck that I haven't owned for almost six years!

When you open Google earth go to the VIEW menu and select "Historical Imagery". You will now have a slider at the top you can skip forward and back to see different dates in time. Well that is if the sat imaged that location more than once.

Another shot at an angle. You can see the fenders. The RS cover I use covers everything but the front fenders.

Thanks!
Four our area; they might show Colonel Graham (For whom the Town is named...), getting caught with his pants down, by the local tribe of Indians...

It varies about the picture. I caught the picture van going by for ground shots last summer. The air view looks current also. What amazes me, I am in a rural community and not the middle of a big town.

It is neat though. I can look up people and see what their drink preference is when they are sitting on their decks. Love those homes with skylights in the bedroom and hot tubs in the yard. :roflblack::roflblack:

Bob

To be honest it doesn't bother me! I got nothing to hide :)

Bob

I'm glad you posted that you have nothing to hide. I was going to comment that you should check the addresses of the places you don't want to be seen!!

Some tips for those saying the image they see is years old.

Do not use Google Maps and turn on Satellite view. Google Maps does not update it's sat imagery as often as Google Earth does especially if there have been no road changes in your area. Install Google Earth and make sure it is updated.

Also maybe try updating to Google Earth Pro. It is free now to upgrade!

When you open Google earth go to the VIEW menu and select "Historical Imagery". You will now have a slider at the top you can skip forward and back to see different dates in time. Well that is if the sat imaged that location more than once.

If your image is still old, then the sat has not been over your house in a while :)

I'm using an iPad. Where is the 'VIEW' menu? Do I need to sign in to find this info? Thanks for the info.
