There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Convert to 2013 Fenders

I'm looking to switch my 2012 fender over to the 2013 Fenders. I see where you can buy the 2013 Pure Magnesium painted fenders. It looks like the fender supports that have the top rail with the position lights, reflectors is only available in black. Does this mean I have to get the support part painted to match the painted fenders?

Pretty sure you can get the stock colors as well instead of the two-tone you've found. I think those are offered as an enhancement for that RSS "look".

Straight replacement parts should be all one color and match the way you're expecting.

When we did our 13' fenders early this year we ran into the same questions.
Unless things have changed all of the fender kits have the matte color support covers. You can piece it all together for all painted pieces but you will spend about 4x the cost. Or have them painted.
It's the reason when we did ours we just did the all matte black fenders. My original thought was if we didn't like it we could always have all of it painted for the same as a bit or 2. I like the matte on my RS but I have other textured black parts and my RS is black so it blends.

The inner fender skirts (which I think are hideous and didn't install) are all textured black.....

This is a pretty good question!
You are correct; the accessories shows them with that black "power bulge" ;), running up over them...
But; can a dealer order them pre-painted to match a bike?
Or does he need to trot them through a spray booth too? :dontknow:

I received the painted fenders from Can-Am the other day.

The center sections "power bulge" must be part of the fender support, yet to come in. So I'm assuming these will be the matte black and will have to look of the picture here.

So I don't know what I'm going to do. I guess I'll get it put together and put it on and see how it looks. I can always pull the center support cover off and have them painted if I don't like the look.

I was thinking I would leave the inner fender skirts off too. Great minds think alike.

That matte black might offer a nice contrast to your main color...
I think that the inner panel was added to improve aerodynamics on the bikes. It might be worth it to see if it improves fuel mileage any... :dontknow:

$250 per pair sounds like a good deal. Just the replacement fender, without the lights, reflectors, or mounting hardware has an MSP of $254. Apparently, BRP designed the accessory fenders to be different than the stock 2013 fenders on purpose. BTW, the inner fender and supports on the stock 2013 RTs are flat black.

$250 only gets you about half way there. If you want to mount those $250 fenders, have lights and all the additional parts you need it will cost you about another $400.
BRP retail figure $650 to do the conversion. Pricey, but worth every penny IMHO.

Also, those inner skirts look like total crap on an RS. Aerodynamic effect on gas mileage is a moot point when you sit behind a 10" tall windshield....haha.
