• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My desktop computer went tango uniform. The internet program died. I can get e mail but nothing else. So, I have to use the wife's laptop when she lets me. :( Like now.

Actually been thinking about it. Right now though a new one is on the wait list till after taxes are done. Need to see if the prez will leave enough for me. :gaah:

As an IT support person, I swore I would never buy a mac, I was strictly windows... That is until my wife, who is a graphic designer had me buy her one for use at home. Once I got to playing with the Mac, I decided I would buy one for myself. I have honestly never looked back, and when we have issues at work and someone asks me how to fix them, my answer is always: "Upgrade to Macs!"

The new 27" iMacs are very nice from a performance standpoint, and I have been thinking about upgrading to one of those myself. If you do go Mac, I would highly recommend the solid state drive, though I know this adds some cost to them, they are great. Solid state drives access times are wonderful. Without going into too much techie foreign language.

The aforementioned is the desktop model and if you are going that route of course. The laptops are also wonderful, and depending on how much you really want to do with it, you could even get the iPad. Granted the lack of Flash support on the iPad can suck, but that is the downside. The apple OS itself on the laptops and desktop do support flash, and google chrome supports the macs. Google chrome internet browser is also a must have for me now. I love GC and have even installed it on my work windows 7 platforms, as well as my personal laptop. I just prefer it over the IE and Safari browsers. Just my $.02!

I have an iPhone & iPad. LOVE it. BUT.... our company creates and sells a lot of software to public safety first responders around the globe. #1 operting system? Windows. Guess what I have?! I do use IE, Chrome & Mozilla. Our developers have one of everything to test against. I love the simplicity of Chrome and the features in Mozilla. To quote my senior software architect.....

Windows.... it ALMOST works

LOL, just bought my first Macbook off this site from a fellow member. I am slowly being assimilated into the Mac world.

Feeling bad...

Been outa the loop for a few dayz. Not computer related, work and illness. I hope no one gets what I had Friday night and Saturday. My legs, back and head hurt terribly. I couldn't keep anything down or in. I didn't think my stomach held so much. Feeling better today, just weak and woozy. Been told it's a form of flu. In my line of work I come into contact with many people at many different places. So no telling where it came from.

We use both systems in our household, each having its' own strengths and weak points.ie: Windows sort of works and ie: Mac works ,most of the time but it wants to own you,I-this and I-that and not compatible with 99% of the software that I'm interested in.
