• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

collapsed oil filter

Recenty i had a spyder f3-s imported from USA..Engine started giving bad noice..drained the oil and found metal pieces..Oil filter is found collapsed..What could be the reason.Need expert advise from you guys as we dont have any brp dealership in my country.

It seems that the filter would have been longer than the original and had been asembled under pressure!! :yikes:

But it's just an impression of how twisted the filter is.

Yes I also had the same feeling but part number is matching with original filer...

Filter installation error. If the center post/cap is not inserted correctly, it can catch the edge of the upper filter hole and if forced, the filter will collapse when the filter cap is screwed down. I have seen this but that that bike did not suffer a failed engine, just a whole lot of unfiltered oil.
It was just 2000 miles and bought from dealership...

From my experience of working on vehicles I wont talk about the filter so who knows the reason but the main reason they wont pull an engine from another vehicle is because they are all serial numbered from the factory and if they just start swapping motors whenever something goes wrong it throws the whole warranty situation out of wack. I know it sounds crazy but its the truth.
