clutch too far

hi guys quick question ,
my wife is complaining that when she rides it the clutch is too far and is cramping her hand , she has small hands
other than the basic 3 level adjustment is their anything else i can do

I also have small hands. I found the clutch very stiff and hard to operate even after it was adjusted closer and that was cramping my hand up. Evoluzione makes a clutch slave cylinder that has made the clutch much easier to operate. It's made a big difference.

Pazzo made a more adjustable clutch lever for the Spyder, but my understanding is that they stopped making them. I have one and like it very much.

You could also buy a different clutch slave cylinder which makes it around 20% easier to pull the clutch in here:

One of the things I found out accidently but am so glad I did was, it was more the position of the clutch. After I put on my risers, my clutch is more to the top of the grip rather than reaching all the way around to the bottom side of the grip. I really noticed it the other day when I rode my husband's spyder and he still has stock bars and clutch in original position. I don't feel like I have to wrap my hand all the way around and down to get to the clutch. I have far less fatigue in that hand than before. It is amazing how just finding a comfortable hand position will make all the difference in the world. It is also a very easy fix and if you don't like it, you can move it back to where it was. It is free to try. Why not.

I can understand where you are coming from. That is the reason we elected to go with the SE5 model over the SM5.... if they did not have a SE5, we would not now own a Spyder.

I changed to a Pazzo adjustable. Go to extremekempy.com and look it up. I love mine. It does not put enough pressure on the safety switch at setting #1. I have mine set on #2 and it works great. I just checked they are on sale today for $99. Check with ttat2r. I think he ordered one.

I guess the clutch is biased towards guys...I find it simple to use...I can see how small hands would have a problem though...luckily, there are good solutions for this...

I have the Pazzo lever as well. I like a whole lot more than the stock.

just installed black pazzo works awesome just read directions well before removing factory clutch lever I put ISO grips on which are thicker than stock so pulls grip even further back my girl has small hands pazzo did trick but warning don't remove lever without reading directions tells u to keep pressure on clutch piston I'll post pics tomorrow

Yep, thats one of the first things I did was to swivel that clutch up a bit. The dealer suggested it the day it was ready, and offered to do it, but i was in to much of a hurry to ride it. After a few hours, my wrist started to hurt. Swiveled it up a few degrees, and problem solved. I agree with dltang. Try that first. A torx (#30 I think) and a minute is all you need. Torx driver is in your tool kit.

This is an interesting thread...I really like the stock clutch...I find it to have a nice sweet spot that is easy to work within. I wouldn't want to soften it as I'd be afraid I'd squeeze right through the sweet spot most of the time...

You will love it. I have one on both of my Spyders. I got Red. Get them while you can because they are not going to be available. Something to do with Pazzo copy right. I guess it was modified without there approval.:dontknow:
