• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

clutch assy falls off...

2008 SM5. What would cause the nut that holds the clutch assy. to the crankshaft to come off after almost 15,000 miles? When the dealer pulled the clutch cover, out fell the whole assy. BRP did not have an answer, only that that has never happened before.

I have the BEST warranty and it was covered except for the $50 per occurrence.

Wait... Didn't you post about this the other day? If not, there is another member with the exact same issue -seemingly anyway. BRP is covering his repair.

Yes, that was me. I'm wondering if any of our experts may have any input. I just picked my spyder up today and they still had no input, which is why I'm posting this.

An SM5 locking up can pose a big problem. I thought before contacting Carlo to see if I can get some kind of answer, I'd try again here. I'm heading for R.I. on 9/16 and would like to put my mind at ease.

The problem as described could certainly be a safety issue if it appears on a lot of :spyder2:'s. A single or very few occurances would not indicate an accross the board problem--but maybe a bad lot of parts--if they all appear together.

Anyone else out there with the same issue?:popcorn::popcorn:

I'm hoping it was just not torqued down at the factory.

When I said safety issue, I meant for me and the gf; if I couldn't get it over to the side of the road, the spyder would have been in the middle of the highway and then plowed into by other vehicles. I'm not saying it's a regular occurrence. I was just trying to get other's thoughts.
