• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Clunk sound and Vibration from front pulley?

IHOP

New member
About 600 miles ago, coming out of Arkansas back to San Antonio, TX on my 2013 RT-S and I started feeling a sort of vibration which turned into a clunking sound. By the time I got to my Home outside of San Antonio it has gotten worse. I am afraid to ride it at this point with the clunk and vibration it makes seemingly every other rotation of the belt and in timing of the belt... Any suggestions? I am at a lose... I'm going to take the Tupperware off and do a look and maybe take off the rear tire and see if I can duplicate the feel and sound from the pulley. I am praying it is not internal or too much damage has been done. I will entertain any idea(s) to start looking at...

Thanks

More Information

It would be really helpful to know the model and year of your Spyder. There have been a number of front pulley failures on some of the F3's (it seems rare on the RT's and other models). Please provide a little more information so that the technical folks can chime in.

All the best ….. Ann

Have you had the Baja Ron Bar and Heim Links installed if not it could be one of the cheap plastic Heim Links has busted! Is the sound on one side?

It is a 2013 RT-S

It is a 2013 RT-S. I installed the Baja Ron sway bar with the links. I looked at the front wheels all seems good with a little play in the right one. I isolated the "feel" "clunk" and sound to that of the belt or front pulley (sprocket) .
