• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Clock Setting screen no longer works, any help appreciated!?

I'm still looking for the answer. I have been copied instructions from the owners manual and told what page to find it on.

I can read and follow instructions outlined in my manual. Ver. 3.1 followed the manual to a tee. Using the manual I could set the Hr, Min, Year, Month, and Day. A few days later my clock was +/- a minute or two. My manual is a pdf and paper copy, so it doesn't update with the software. :confused:Maybe there is a new download for the manual with V4.1? I haven't looked.

Update 4.1 screenshot is below. The only adjustment that I see for the Date & Time is the time zone. Every time I have checked the time it was dead on with my phone's time. I'll check it in a few days, and if still accurate, I'll move on and assume that it is being updated by some time wizard.;)
BTW, I tapped my screen on the time reading, thinking maybe there is a submenu. There wasn't.

I don't have an F3, but I was looking at the F3 Operator's Guide.
I just checked the Operator's Guide for my Spyder RT and it has the same information (on a different page number).

I'm going to head out to the garage and see if it works on my 2024 Spyder RT.

I apologize, as I trusted that the Operators Guide was correct.

Shocker: it isn't!

The Data & Time on my 2024 Spyder RT looks exactly the same as your screen shot, other than my time is different.

I did check, and the time on my Spyder is exactly the same as the time on my iPhone.

========

I found a Youtube video from user RykerRydes (https://www.youtube.com/@RykerRydes) where she shows you how to change the time on a 2024+ Spyder F3 or RT. In her video when she gets into the Date & Time there's a 3rd option of "Set time", along with Time Format and Set Date.

It was filmed back in March, so I posted a comment asking if she had updated her bike to 4.1 and if the Set time option was still there.

HaHaHa!
Yes, back in March we were on V3.1, as V4.1 just came out a few days ago.
Racoon, I appreciate all of your input, even if I didn't come across that way. As I said, I'm moving on since all appears to be working as designed. I'll let you know if I come across something new (I'm sure I will).

It's 6:15 am here, which means I really should still be asleep.
Don't judge. I'm retired. ;)

But I woke up suddenly with a new idea, and after a short time with Google I'm going to try something.

But first, COFFEE!!!

I've proved it!
You should never make an important decision before completing your morning routine!
Whether that involves caffeine, morning exercise, letting the dog out, feeding the cat, or whatever it is you do.
You need to finish the routine while your brain fully wakes up!

Oh. As for the Spyder's clock, my idea fell flat.

My Apple iPhone automatically updates it's time based on it's location, and as you change time zones it updates the time (and potentially date, although I'm not able to test the date change at the moment.) I'm guessing that Android has the same capabilities.

But the time zone updates can be overridden.
In the iPhone's Date & Time setting there is a "Set Automatically" option, which by default is on.
You can manually turn it off.
So I did and then set the clock an hour forward, so my iPhone though it was 7:35 am and not 6:35 am.

And then turned the Spyder on, rolled the throttle, checked the time to confirm it said 6:35 am and plugged in my iPhone.
My iPhone beeped, which is the normal confirmation when you connect it to a power source.
And I waited.
And nothing happened.
The Spyder's clock was still at 6:35 am.
I waited some more.
No change, the Spyder's clock was still the 6 am hour.

So the Spyder does not get it's time from the iPhone.
Theory trashed. :(

Did you figure it out?? It is that screen that I am talking about, when my time was off after the update I kept pushing the + sign and watched the clock setting until it read the correct time! Good luck.

Correct, the time zone will have to be set to your locality. After the update it shows Greenwich Mean Time. No other adjustments for minutes, day, date, or year.

Not so fast. Maybe our Spyder clocks only sync once per day? I have a clock that syncs to the atomic clock in Colorado via AM Radio Waves. Only happens once a day, at 2:00 a.m., less radio traffic. And if there is any interference it won't update until the next day and try again. Usually not a problem since the clock is accurate to +/- 18 seconds/month.

Or, maybe the Spyder "sees" your iPhone's Geolocation coordinates and keeps it in the correct zone. Your iPhone didn't update because you told it not to. Just a guess.

I'm a big "No" on the syncing once a day idea.

The problem with the geolocation idea is that the Spyder would need to first identify where it was, and then compare it to where the phone thought it was. The Spyder doesn't have GPS built into it.

And I will be able to test how it handles time zone changes in late September.
I will be attending the Appalachian Fall 2025 event in Kodak/Sevierville, Tennessee. That area is in the Eastern Time Zone, while the area where I live in Middle Tennessee is the Central Time Zone.

I'm scheduled to arrive in Kodak on Thursday, Sep 25, so I've set myself a calendar reminder to check my Spyder's date & time on Friday, Sep 26.

Here's my theory, that I'm going to test when I get the time (maybe somebody will beat me to it). If you have configured a Wi-Fi connection in your Spyder, it connects to the Wi-Fi every time you turn it on. With the 4.1 update, it then connects to an NTP server (like your laptop or desktop computer running Windows does) and syncs the time. The way to test would be to delete the Wi-Fi connection, then check your clock after a few days to see if it has drifted. Or take your Spyder on a trip away from home for a few days so it can't connect to the Internet, and see if the clock drifts.

An interesting idea, but I don't think so. I do have my Spyder configured to connect to my home WiFi network, but there's a couple of problems that come to mind.

My house is a ranch style that runs north-to-south.
My two car garage is on the north end of the house, and the WiFi access point is in the middle of the house.
I park my Honda Ridgeline truck on the left/south side of the garage, and my Spyder is parked on the right/north side. That means the truck is between my Spyder and the WiFi access point, which blocks the signal.

What I have to do to connect my Spyder to the network is to park the truck on the driveway, and move the Spyder to the left/south side of the garage so it's closer to the WiFi access point.
Also, my WiFi network is password protected, so when I do connect my Spyder it prompts me for the password.

And even if it's connecting to the WiFi and checking an NTP server, it would be responding with the correct time for the IP address of my network, which should be the same time as my iPhone when I'm at home, which isn't the time on the Spyder.

But it's worth trying, so I guess I'm going to delete the WiFi settings for my network and try again.
My dealer added their shop WiFi network to my Spyder, so I'll leave that one in place.

Please note that I may be offline for awhile, while the doctors treat me for a concussion.
I don't have a concussion, yet, but I feel like banging my head against the wall, so...

I went out to the garage, turned on my Spyder, navigated to the Wireless settings, and deleted the entries for my WiFi network.
I exited out to the main screen and then froze.

Because there it was, right at the bottom center of the screen, the CORRECT TIME! The same time that was showing on my iPhone!

My Spyder has been plugged into the Battery Tender Jr, which was showing a green light, indicating a fully charged battery, but it was completely shut down and the keys were in the house.

Now I'm going to have a beer (Guinness Zero non-alcoholic dark beer, if anyone cares), then do some chores around the house, and maybe this evening I'll go add the WiFi connection back into my Spyder.

Also, my WiFi network is password protected, so when I do connect my Spyder it prompts me for the password.
Just so I understand: every time you turn the key on your Spyder ON and it's close enough to get to your Wi-Fi router, your Spyder prompts you to enter your Wi-Fi passcode?

No. If I go into the WiFi settings and tell it to connect to the network then it asks for the password.

My Spyder does not automatically connect to the network.

My garage is close enough that most times it does connect to my WiFi when I turn on the key.

Racoon: Why were you surprised that is showed the correct time? Did you do something to make not be correct before hand?

Mine does, but only when my truck isn't between my Spyder and the WiFi access point.

Because at around 7am this morning it was off by an hour, with multiple failed attempts to correct the time on the Spyder.
And then shortly after Noon today the time was correct.

If it was off by 1 hour could that have been a time zone issue? I still have not gone out to disconnect my battery as it is too hot out in that garage.
