Clarification on the Transport Canada safety recall on 2013 Spyder RT and ST

:dontknow::dontknow::dontknow::dontknow::dontknow::dontknow:
Now: are they TRULY dead, or just kind of ZOMBIE dead?
Is this an issue for NHTSA, the CDC, or the screen actor's guild??

You're kidding; right??
You and I call it Canada. BRP calls it the largest test facility in the world. Anyway, who is going to miss a few charbroiled Canadians if it means getting product to market in the USA?

I have recommended to BRP that they stop testing new products in Canada in sub-freezing temperatures. No wonder they keep missing the "heating" problems with the Spyder.

And yes, I am joking. Obviously, you did not read your owner's manual carefully: "NO CANADIANS WERE INJURED DURING THE MAKING OF YOUR SPYDER". They only use immigrants who have not obtained citizenship status.

They are Canadians - no way to really know.

I can't figure out what his deal is. Seems angry to me.
Nope. Not at all. My 2012 Can-Am Spyder RT-S SM5 has been terrific. I am completely satisfied with my dealers. I enjoy my Spyder tremendously.

BRP did deprive me of my 5k pin even though I followed their instructions to the letter, but I only want that as a collectors item and it does not reflect directly on the operation of my Spyder.

I do read many of the posts in Spyderlovers.com and I am amazed the poor quality of service many fellow buyers receive from the dealer network.

Didn't I read (on another FORUM thread) that BRP reduced the amount of shielding on the 2013's which may be contributing to some of the complaints from people about heat? And to now learn their Spyder could envelope the "family jewels" in flames is a matter of consternation. Guess they are back to square ONE and will add that shielding they should never have taken off. I am just wondering where the heat will be redirected?

But, many years ago, I was told to NEVER buy a car the first year of production. Consumer Reports continues to offer that advice frequently. Why would it be any different for a significant revision of an existing model. So really all 2013 owners are to blame for their stupidity. But then again, BRP did allow some well-placed Spyderlovers.com aficionados to "test drive" the 2013's with the hope of spurring interest (and it did).

GOD HELPS THEM THAT HELPS THEMSELVES. Don't be snookered by manufacturers claims; written testaments from those who are "favored" by BRP; a dealer network that is still a work in progress (in many areas of the country); etc.

Just like it said in the movie, INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE: CHOOSE WISELY!

now now guys....I don't think one cannot feel very bad for anyone who gets a bad spyder, no matter the year. That being said, we should not be the beta testers for BRP, and :cus: melting under the tupperware tells me they are not very thorough in doing there own testing. I really don't think ANYONE can argue that fact.

I agree with a lot of what you said....I've been called a lot of things in my life "So really all 2013 owners are to blame for their stupidity " but...aficionados is not one of them...so thanks

Have to agree with you Flamingobabe and you too spydersteve . Don't really appreciate being called stupid by someone who does not even know me. Don't know how y'all do it in Ohio but down south your remarks are considered rude and uncalled for.

I was too harsh in my wording. I was trying to be sarcastic. I do not actually believe that. I just read through a lot of your posts about the heat problems you are experiencing. I just have to remember that sarcasm doesn't translate well when you type words on a FORUM page.

However, I continue to be surprised how forgiving some (spyderlovers.com) people are with BRP when members point out a serious problem such as over-heating. You paid good money for your Spyder and you should not be an experiment for them to try out their new/revised models. I don't think they are trying to solve the heating problem you are describing. I think they are trying to solve the problem that is causing them to burn up their own engines.

BRP has clearly cozied up to some members on here in order to get positive posts on this Forum that helps with their marketing.

...Four times for me! ***
I caught them in Philly TWICE on one weekend...
*** Friday night at a downtown venue, as Soft White UnderBelly
Saturday night at the Spectrum, as BOC...
THAT was a weekend to remember! :2thumbs:

*** I counted this one as a BOC concert too!

Thanks for pointing that fact out to him...
...not that he'll get it; but it's a nice try!

Like a lot of bands back then I quit liking them once they got popular. Same with Kansas and Styx. They seemed to lose their edge with Agents of Fortune and sell out. Stick it to the Man I say ;)

Sadly Alan recently passed

You are nuts! Maybe someone could send him a 5,000 mile pin so he will shut up!
