There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Don't read any further if you discouraged easily ! I'm chroming out my RTS Limited and took on the challenge of the handle bar cover . Opened the instruction and read install time 2 hours (Ya right ) I figured double that ! Six and a half hours latter its all done .Now granted I had to re-wire the GPS right back from the battery to get the wires through the new handle bars . I also took some time poking around checking out what under all the Tupperware.I couldn't believe what had to come off the Spider. The whole head came off and most of the side panels. When you first look at it it only looks like a few bolts need to come off.

Any how going to do the foot bracket support, passengers foot pegs, drivers pegs and brake pedal thurs. I've read the instructions on this and it looks like another 5-6 hour install if i'm lucky .

I hear your pain

Talked to my dealer last week and he showed me an Black RT completely tricked out with all the chrome BRP farkles. Awesome looking. The chrome handlebars are spectacular, but if I had a choice of just one install it would be the foot bracket supports. That piece of chrome looked simply fantastic and I envy you with your purchase of that item.

I spoke to the installer and he told me that the foot bracket install took him the longest. Don't know why, but he mumbled something about removing linkage rod etc. $#%^&

Dan, I am really looking forward to seeing all that chrome on your white RT at Spyderfest, and you giving me a heads up on the do's and don'ts wrt a DIY job on installation.

If you get a chance please post a picture of the finished product gleeming in the Ontario sunshine.

Sunshine, you have sunshine. Man the weather sucks ! I've been working in the garage and boy -o boy is she cold ,dark and wet these last few days .

The chrome installs are a real pain in the butt ! The chrome pegs, brake and peg support bracket require you to remove every side panel as well as the whole rear trunk unit :gaah: and then play with the brake linkage . I know it looks awesome but going to wait till it warms up a bit to tackle this day project . Need to get some miles on the :spyder2: as I've got my 1000k service on Mon.

See you and the Misses at Spyderfest .

Job was too big for me had my dealer do most of the mods. cut me a deal on parts but mostly labor. I have a great dealer. I'm sure BRP will make this optional if you order a :spyder:The day (Aug) I brought my :spyder:I wanted it chromed. Saved enough to have it done now looking at seats

Congratulations on doing it your self

Thats the same thing my dealer told me about having to go all the way back on the wires. Still have one piece left to get is the lower wind deflectors, seems nobody has them in stock :(

:congrats::bowdown:

Been there, done that. Did both the chrome handle bars and footpegs supports, exhaust trim, mirror covers and handle bar ends in the same day. About 12 hours total.:gaah:

Chrome

I trust you all have garages and lots of chrome polish. Envy, of course. If my environs were up to it (I don't have a garage), I'd just do the foot peg casters, foot pegs and exhaust. The lower applications seem to be the ones that really mature the RT. Regarding the handle bar, I have the GPS too, and 'me no gonna rip my stuff out.' Congrats to those who made it through the gauntlet

Hey Fast Fraser.... Where's the Pictures? Sounds like it would look awesome, but I wanna see it.
Thanks for the warning though, I think I will leave mine alone til I have a load of time on my hands. 6 hours for you = at least a dozen for me :opps:

When I had all the chrome added to my RT Ltd., it didn't take me any time at all....................but it took the boys at Cowtown a couple of days:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:. I found it to be a very easy install! Good luck on the rest of the parts.

I haven't learned how to post pictures.:gaah:Life has slowed down a bit and I still have 4 weeks holidays left so I will give it a try in the next few weeks. Just finished an oil change and hope to get a few more miles in before I put the Spyder away.
