There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Choosing Risers

Hello all, just bought a 2009 SM5 (if the rain stops I might get my first ride on it) and would like to put on risers. I am 6'8" and would like a more of a touring seat position. I see there seems to be 3 options;:dontknow:
1) ESI 4" @ $ 240
2) Kewl Metal Adjustable @ $ 330
3) Street Magic 4.5" @ 130

I would prefer not putting in a heli or riser block.

So the question I would like to ask is what have others choosen and why and how do you like them.

Thanks Dave:helpsmilie:

We have the KewlMetal risers on our RS and absolutely love them.
They are fully adjustable and can be fitted specifically to meet your ryding comfort.
Worth every penny of it.

We are running the E-Z Riser they work & look great for us.:2thumbs:
Takes about an hour to install. Here are some pics.

ESI risers look like they're part of the bike...they are much more aesthetically pleasing than the kewl metal...

They function great. I have the 3 inch and can't remember if I left the 1" BRP riser block on or not (will have to check)...regardless, they make a big difference and you can rotate them easily for comfort.

I'm not a fan of the kewl metal as they just don't fit the lines of the bike...really look out of place, but that's my opinion and I'm sure those who have them really like them.

ESI (black anodized) risers look great. They actually look like they belong there.

:agree:

I have a 1" BRP riser and 4" ESI black risers and I love them. The hubby has the ESI easy risers and loves them. I have heard good things about the Kewlmetal adjustable risers too.

I like the price and height of the ez risers but they dont look as strong and pleasing to the eye as the ESI 4" Aluminum. Has anyone had them loosen up on them, laid awake last night thinking how hopeless you would feel if suddenly your grip was in your hand instead of on your bike.:gaah:
