• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Check transmission

Got back from about an 80 mile ride today and parked my bike in the driveway. Got on and started it back up to pull in the garage and got a check transmission and it wouldn't shift into gear. Turned it off and let it sit for a minute and started it back up and no problem. Went right into gear and no light on. Pulled in garage and checked for codes and showed no active codes. So was it just a glitch or do you think it's a forewarning of something going wrong?

Don't know..!!

Could be the gear position sensor or it was between gears. Not to familiar with the se trans but could be a glitch. You could run by the dealer and have them check with buds for code history. Make sure your oil level is good...

You can get the 'Check Transmission' light if you're in neutral and try to shift into gear
with high engine revs.
1. You can't get into 1st. until the engine is almost at tick-over.
2. If you try to shift, there will be no gear engaged, but when you move off
the light will come on for a short time.
I've managed this on a couple of occasions!

Hopefully that is all it was. Thanks for the info!

Just for fun... ;)
Check your oil levels.
That's been known to make a transmission act a bit "wonky", at times.

I have been having a transmission code on mine also. I was not able to pull up a code. The oil is OK checked fuses, relays and the battery connections. When the check trans code came up it would not let me shift up or down until the code left the screen. The shop pulled up two codes on it. One for the paddle shifter and a speed sensor. I should get it back next week .

Do you know if they are replacing anything or what codes it showed?

SAME / SIMILAR ISSUE

While at Spyderfest 2014, a Tech at the BRP Truck tore my 2011 RSS down and cleaned everything and after checking all possibilities He narrowed it down to the Shifter / Paddle switch ( ( BLIPPER switch )( SE ) as the likely culprit. I had been having intermittent codes and only had the trans actually get stuck in gear a few times ( but it did correct itself after revving it ) . It's now at the dealer and I await what they are going to do about it .........Mike

When I ha mine in the shop I had to apparent problems. The code was for the blipper switch however the switch tested fine. The tech notied that sometime my throttle did not quite return all the way to the top. He said if it is left open a little it will not start and throw that code. My other problem that could have been the possible culprit was a loose relay or fuse. Non problems since then for me.
