• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Check engine light

My new 2011 RT-S has a check engine light problem and only runs on one cylinder. The morons at my dealer are having trouble figuring it out. Anyone else having the problem?
Only 500 miles on it.:helpsmilie:

I have a friend with RS SM5 from Venice using the WestCoast Powersports dealer in Clearwater...

Same thing happened to me. One cylinder firing said they going to re wire whole system. They called BRP and were told to replace ECU. No problems after that.

I had the same problem last Sept. It was a bad spark plug wire.

The ECU is the engine control unit. Your problem could be there, a bad plug wire, bad coil, a bad spark plug, or a combination of these. Probably fouled the O2 sensor, giving the engine light. There may not be a diagnostic code if the coil is firing but the spark is shorting out to the head. My 2010 RTS needed to have the ECU, coil, wires, and spark plugs all replaced to cure it. BRP tech should be able to help your dealer. Some techs do not understand that the computer cannot tell them everything. Really not happy to hear that this type of problem is showing up on the 2011s, too.
