• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Check Engine Error Code

SLO RYDER

New member
I was riding in about 105 degree temperature this weekend and the Check Engine Code flashed across the dash along with the engine light and the Shift indicator had a "E" displayed. The steering also seemed to go from having power to not having power.

This happened twice now and both only in extreme temperatures. Since I was close to home both times I continued on. The first time I started the Spyder after sitting about 3 hours and all was fine. This was about three weeks ago. This second time I pulled the cover off the fuse and relay box in the trunk and all three relays were very hot to the touch. I placed a ice pack on top of them and then tried starting the Spyder within 10 minutes and all was fine. No Error codes.

The Fan was running and the Headlights were working so I doubt if these relays caused the Error code. Main Realy 2 (small Black) I believe is the one that most people have been replacing but has anyone found a replacement for the Main Relay 1 (large grey one)?

Any input is appriciated.:(
Thanks,
Mike

I am taking my bike to the shop to tomorrow, I have been getting the same check engine warning. I am getting an error code 0P1967. We had :spyder: on the computer at Pirate Powersports all day yesterday. For my bike its the clutch valve solenoid. It only does it when the bike gets hot.

The "E" symbol is almost a definite indication of the gear position sensor failing. Check out lamonsters new post in here on changing the GPS.

Had the same error couple weeks ago dealer had to order the sensor had none in stock! Also talk to the dealer months ago about the squealing brakes. I was told by one tech not to believe what you read on the web and another told me he would check into it. Well thats exactly what he did when I ask again on my visit with the check engine error. Hard to believe but he called BRP and they confirmed it as a known problem and it's covered under warranty. But the dealer had no correct brake pads either. :gaah: So I am crossing my fingers and still riding in the Rolling Thunder this weekend.

Motto: :cus: Go or Blow!

Thanks for the input from all. I get the same from my dealer, "don't beleive the forums". The Spyder is a awsume machine, but I hope the dealer's lack of trusting the owners and the information on the forums don't kill it.

My reply to these idiots would be "I'll only believe you if you fix it!" A dealer with a closed mind is a liability, IMO. There is some bad information on the Internet, and they have a right to be leery, but there is also a lot of good, shared informmation out there, and a good dealer cannot afford to dismiss it out of hand just because it was mentioned on a forum.
