• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cheap Cup Holders

I am a coffee drinker and I like my coffee as I ride, so the first thing I did was make a holder for my and the wife's coffee cups. We have those big 20 oz aluminum ones that stay hot for hours. Anyway, had to make several modifications to get them to work as they needed to. We now have rode close to 1,000 miles with them in conditions of 80 mph freeway speeds, tight hairpin turns, city driving, and terrible road conditions and they sit right there. I splurged at Wally world $5 for four of these. Cut part of the lip down (careful you don't cut too much) so that it would fit in the gap (see picture). I then got some velcro and had the wife sew half to the backside of the cupholder. Then, putting the two pieces together I carefully pulled the backing off, positioned the holder where I wanted it and stuck it in place. The final adjustment I needed to make was a small bungee to hold the cup more firm. This makes for a cheap fix that can be quickly removed, and if lost for some reason you are not out big $'s. Here are the pixs.

I wish someone would make a decent looking rear cup holder so we can rid the world of these plastic dinosaurs. $30,000 Spyders with $10 cup holders. :lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie::roflblack:

Joe, I know what you're sayin' but until that happens this one works pretty well for the back seat. Yes, it's plastic, but it's sturdy, doesn't look bad, works well, and attaches securely to the hand rest. I use one of these when I have a passenger.

My choice for the front of the RT is the Rivco one you can buy on just about any bike site. You can get the cup holder in chrome, black, or leather covered, and they sell a special mounting plate for the Spyder. Here's a picture of mine...

I agree on the plastic one, that is the one we will use until something good comes along, for the Driver i have and prefer the SRT cup holder, sturdier than the Rivco, but the Rivco looks good also.
