chattering noise in front end

wife and i have had spyder for a few weeks and love it but have always heard a "chattering" noise in front wheels while braking. i thought it was something with the way the abs system worked but have not heard of any one else speak of this noise. all seems to be working perfectly with spyder but am concerned if this will cause eventual problems. just getting ready for our first service at dealer so will bring it to their attention but wondering if anyone has any ideas. have the whine that many are talking about which is also going to be brought to dealers attention...it seems to have gotten less the more we break it in though.

It's normal, the noise from the holes drilled in the rotor. I have KLR 650 with drilled disc on the front and get the same noise.

Hmmm, funny you posted this. Just this evening, while riding home from work, I had something similar just start to happen; the sound is like a baseball card in your bicycle spokes.

Just passed 1100 miles on the :spyder: ... I'm a bit concerned. :dontknow:

exactly!!!!!!!!!!! thats the sound we hear. dont know if this has anything to do with it or not but i have heard of a recall on some spyders that have air in the brake lines. check out biker news online or google can am spyder recall.

200 miles since Tuesday here and mine just whines a little...lets me know shes workin hard for me!! reminds me of a hound dog

Mine does and has done the ticking (baseball card in spokes) noise ever since I got it. I think it's normal. Seems like I've read a comment or two about it here or on SpyderTalk a few months back. Those comments also said it was normal Spyder brake noise.

The "air in the brake lines" deal has been resolved either buy a recall on those bikes affected or by a production change since it was discovered. If you have not been told to bring in your :spyder:for the recall, your bike was manufactured AFTER the production change an the recall does not apply to you.
