Chasing the Side cover again!

Twice now my riding buddy has risked himself to save my ($&@") side cover. Both times he has seen it go airborne and has been able to stop and dodge traffic to make a recovery before some 18 wheeler renders it Unrecognizable. I have the new style grommets and I do check to make sure the top tab is engaged, but still it blows off. I don't like the safety tether idea because it would just beat the side up flopping in the wind. Attempted a call to BRP but gave up on hold dealer is little help. Worried now what my liability is if this projectile causes or injury to others. I ride around now constantly reaching down and checking it to make sure it's notcoming loose.

I haven't ever lost mine but I have placed a strip of velcro across the top of both side panels so if the grommets work loose, hopefully I can catch it before it becomes airborne.

Velcro is the way to go. Use it on both side panels.

Since doing the fix I also have used velcro on the top part of the Panel as extra security although the panels have never come loose
since I did my fix - With reference to velcro - I used the strongest velcro I could find but found when taking the panel off
the velcro would stick to itself ok' but would come loose from the panel - I have used 3M Automotive tape on the backing of the
velcro and found you really have to pull hard just to remove the panel because the Velcro sticks so well

If using Velcro only to help secure the Panels my tip is add 3M Automotive tape on the back - Give it a couple of hours to go off
before putting the panel back on

You can also get - 3M Automotive Adhesion Promoter which aids the 3M Automotive tape to stick to surfaces
