• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone seen this? Just got my CHAD today - tried mounting the main bracket - top screws in and bottom screws don't line up with the inserts on the bike.

Any ideas? thoughts?

Chad Install

I just installed a Chad on my spyder this week and ran into the same problem. I think if you will look at the bracket tabs, you will see that they might need a little tweaking. I bent the tabs on the 2 lower screw holes up slightly, which made them come into alignment. If that does not work, you might have to do a little judicious filing to open up the holes........

Thanks!

Bending the bottom tabs out a bit (made them slightly less bent) allowed me to get the bottom screws in first, and then the top screws were able to go in and was then able to work them all in.

(hoping the rest goes more smoothly!)

Guess it isn't going on tonight!

ARGH!

Parts kit missing the 1/16" thick rubber washers... anybody know the correct dimensions so I can see if they are available locally? (ID/OD)

If you're talking about the washers that go between the rotating/sliding parts, you don't want them anyway. They restrict the ajustment movement a lot... they tend to "fuse" onto the metal. In other words, they make adjustment very, very hard.

Buy some fiber washers... I even use "star" lock washers although they will scratch the paint.

Yeah, I had the same issue. I ended up taking a 1/4" drill bit and elongating the holes slightly. Careful not to take too much off and weaken the area.

It took a few trials to get it right. Also, careful not to strip the treads inside the cowling.

Got it put on... will see if the nylon washers that I picked up will keep things in place properly or if I need to get different washers.
