• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Centramatic balancer 'proprietary oil'? ?

I got my product today and was a little surprised that it 'sounds' like there is sand in the rings. Maybe they are small balls but it sounds like sand. I thought there was supposed to be 'proprietary moly oil' in there as a dampener. I guess I don't care as long as I get the results, it was just not what I was expecting. It's going to be a few days until I can install these.

I come from the Goldwing crowd. I started using Centramatic about 6-7 years ago on the Wings.
There is a proprietary oil with 3oz of what they call Durametal. It is a combination of zinc and lead in a # 6 shot. The reason for the Zinc is to harden the lead so it will not become misshapened and thus have jagged edges and could then begin to wear out the tubing it is running in. Staying totally round in that oil they are like bearings sliding along. What you are hearing is the Durametal sliding through the tubing as you accelerate and decelerate. Quite normal. Here is why you need this vs the old school stick on lead weights. When you balance your wheels with stick on, those weights are obsolete within say 1000 miles and as the tire wears that weight stay the same place. With Centramatic that Durametal runs out and seeks the imbalance and counters it so every time you give it the gas you rebalance the tires. As the tires wears the balance changes and the Centramatic change with it. You will gain 30-40% better tire life with them. Believe me, they work!!
