• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cell phones need to be jammed while vehicles are in gear

The problem with many opinions in this thread is the belief that someone should create technology to fix bad behaviors. People need to decide it's more important to actively drive their thousands of pounds of rolling weapon than to talk to their friends, put on makeup, read a book, check texts, or eat their lunch. Until that happens no amount of technology can keep them from killing each other.

:agree: Every time the technology and statutes catch up to the stupid behavior: the stupid behavior seems to find another gear... :banghead:
Only fresh attitudes can change this situation: good luck with that! :gaah:

You hit the nail right on the head.
I think that all levels of government can pass all the laws they want. The mind set of too many people today is 'me me me'. It isn't just young people but in my mind they are probably the worst offenders. It also requires law officers to enforce these laws and they can't be everywhere at once. Most of these people can't take their eyes off their phones and they text continuously. They are so intent on this technology that they just don't care what the laws are and don't seem to care what the consequences of their behavior might be. And that includes the other distractions that you mentioned.
Sadly, I don't see a good outcome with the attitudes of too many people out there.
Stepping off my soap box now.

This is not something new. Before gps's became common I did see lots of folks driving down the road with a map or written directions in one hand, steering wheel in the other. Maybe just the perception is that it is worse now. We can always blame the new electronic gadgets to be the problem. If the phone was blocked while driving. I would suspect the same folks would find something else to distract them.

The cage is real! Lol. Just out for a quick ride this beautiful sat morning/afternoon for lunch before work.... man, folks just not paying attention on the road today. Luckily plenty of back roads here [emoji108]

Once 5G, and the global brain come into being, we will no longer drive our own vehicles. Everything will be driverless. Enjoy it while you still have a little control. nojoke
