• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cell Phone and Comm System

I saw Freed Rau's video on the 2012 RT. The 2012 Comm System provides for cell phone integration.
I've got my cell phone connected through my Zumo, but it requires me to wear a second microphone.
Does anyone have any information on the cell phone integration ?
Is there a module or cables that can retrofitted to my existing 2010 RT comm system.
I suspect it's a new connection to the Entertainment Harness but I have no real information.
I'd love to be able to hook up my cell phone without using that second microphone.
Any help would be greatrly appreciated.

All I can say is that Fred Rau's video specifically and explicitly indicated that cell phone integration is a new feature for 2012.
Does anyone have any details on how this is done and a possible retrofit for the 2010 ?

Since the 2012 RT was just introduced at the dealer event, and likely not a single one yet delivered, much less sold; I doubt if anyone has that information yet.

I was talking with Ed Davis (EdSets) and was told the mic integration for cell phones wouldn't be too hard. You first identify the two wires in the headset cord, or better yet, the cable feeding into the headset jack from the RT, and install some little cubed shaped device he showed me, inline. That device has another line-out that plugs directly into the mic-in jack on the Zumo 550 cradle. The result is a split from the headset mic into the Zumo.

I'll see if I can get the specific from him sometime & post.

Any updated info on the cell phone integration??? Does it work on a 2011 RT-Limited for sure or now the starting in 2012?

For me big issue

I live in New York so it against the law to talk on a cell while driving with out using a hands free device. I have been able to use my Spyder for work (which is great) but the big drawback is not being able to talk to customers. Even if I could just answer untill I could pull over to talk. I hear that Chatterbox is good ? but I hate to spend another few hundred bucks and get junk like the Motor phone (6 riders multi-Interphone ) I wasted money on. That lasted one day and the microphone wire broke then the speakers. simply b taking the helmet off.
Thoughts? :(

Cell Phone

As our next vehicle purchase will likely be a 2012 Spyder I did also listen closely to Fred's video and did hear him say that cell phone interface will be a new feature. But could the just be in reference to the capabilities of the Zumo gps unit? If the Spyder had a built-in bluetooth as part of the entertainment harness it would make all types of devices available for pairing and would eliminate the need for a cable connection for mp3 players. I own a Zumo 665 with XM radio and use the Cardo Scala Rider G4 teamset. I can answer calls via VOX and everyone I've talked to can not believe that I'm riding down the highway at 70mph. It can also dial using VOX if you program your contacts for voice dialing. The Zumo also has a phone screen for large push button dialing with gloved hands.http://www.cardosystems.com/us/homepage

The BRP website shows the bluetooth cell phone intergration system. Its $2,000 and includes the CB/Comm system, the GPS system, and the entertainment harness as well. It will work with the 2011s or newer.
