• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

CB for 2014 RT recall

Just got a call from my dealer. BRP advised dealers NOT to install the 2014 CB on RT and to return all stock they may have to BRP. Sooooooo, be aware.

Not exactly sure of the problem and I have not read the BRP notice.

Here is the article I received from my dealer

Dear Can-Am Dealer and Distributors,

The CB communication kits installed on 2013 and 2014 Can-am RT models could generate in rare occasions an electrical problem causing a potential limp home mode and a code U0073. BRP wants to inform our dealer network not to sell or install CB communication kits on 2013 and 2014 RT until a solution is available.

The following part numbers are impacted 219400145 and 219400532

For the moment, BRP will stop selling CB communication kits. If you have any kits in stock, we ask you to block the inventory until further notice.

The symptoms of the problem occur when drive is pressing the push-to-talk button. It may provoke a limp home mode reducing the engine power available. On 2014 RT SE6 models this may also cause the unit to stop shifting and stall when coming to a stop.

If this situation occurs to a customer, turn the ignition switch off until the multifunction gauge turns off completely then turn the ignition switch on, this will clear the limp home mode.

In the event a customer has this situation, BRP recommends to avoid pressing the push-to-talk button until the CB communication kit can be disconnected.

For the customers who never experienced this situation, no action is required at this time since the amount of vehicles impacted is limited.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this and we will come back to you when we have new information available.

I think all the CBs radio needs to be recalled. The CB is a "POS". I installed a upgrade antenna from J&M and now the CB radio works great. It's a shame Cam-Am antenna don,t work with there own CB.

Thanks for the heads up. I will now know what to do if it acts up. However, since I added the extra ground and upgraded the antenna, it's been working great! Amazing is probably a better word for it.

AMAZING is a better word for the J&M antenna upgrade.

As I have said in other posts. I use the Sena SMH10 for my iPhone and the Sena SR10 for my portable CB on my two wheelers. Best of both worlds. Music thru the iPhone, Talk with bluetooth intercom and cb for the others.

IF i could only include the radio stack from the Spyder along with the above...............Oh well, life is full of dreams and goals.

Is there a way to find out if my CB on my 2014 is one of these part #? just checked my sale invoice but no part # listed.

You can. Get the Sena SM10 for the radio and make your own BT cable to the radio. Now you have the BRP radio added. The SMH10 will suport both a SM10 and a SR10 connection.
